When Courtney Taylor was a child, she used to entertain family members and friends with acting performances. Since then, she has always wanted to have a career in the entertainment industry. During the time she was 13, she decided to pursue acting as a profession. After moving to Austin, she started to work as a model and also appeared as an extra in a number of commercials. She did a couple uncredited roles in movies and short films in 2013 and 2014. She soon started fitness training, created an Instagram account and began sharing pictures of her progress online. She primarily posted fitness and lifestyle related pictures, and within a couple years, she became a fitness guru on Instagram with over one million followers. Her online popularity would eventually help her get more acting and modeling offers.

Courtney Taylor followed a clean diet, and at the age of 17, started weight lifting in the gym with the aim of participating in competitions. With a well-sculpted physique, she entered her first bodybuilding competition in 2016, in the NPC West Coast Classic Contest. She displayed respectable performance, competing in two categories as a bikini athlete, but failed to win. However, she became more determined to be successful in the fitness industry. With more rigorous training, she took home the trophy in the next contest she participated in: the 2016 NPC Brew City Championships. She also qualified for the national fitness competitions and started preparation to earn her Pro Card.

Courtney Taylor Clenney was born on April 21, 1996 in Midland, Texas. When she was only seven years old, her family decided to move from Midland to Austin. After living in Austin for about 11 years, she moved to Los Angeles, where she currently lives. She often mentions that her family and friends motivated her to follow her fitness regime and also encouraged her to enter into competitions. She is a fan of Margot Robbie, Doutzen Kroes and Ellie Gonsalves. She has two dogs and takes them to morning walk every day. She wants to be with someone who doesn't underestimate her potential and encourages her to grow further. While she has been in a few relationships, she thinks many men got jealous of or intimidated by her success, which strained the relationship. She recently revealed that she is currently in a relationship and thinks that her boyfriend is quite chivalrous.

She said in a Q&A video that she quit diving as a child because she was afraid of sharks, even in pools.
