Rufina Pukhova was a Russian memoirist who wrote two memoirs about her husband Kim Philby, a British double agent for the Soviet Union. Pukhova is credited with helping Philby fight depression and alcoholism after his defection. After his controversial death in 1988, she vehemently denied rumors of suicide and maintained that he died of a heart condition.

Neile Adams is a Filipino-American dancer, actress, and singer. Emilie Benes Brzezinski is a Swiss American sculptor best known for her sculptures made out of wood. Her monumental work Lintel, which was made from cut cherry trees, is currently preserved in a sculpture park named Grounds For Sculpture in Hamilton, New Jersey. Over the years, Emilie Benes has displayed her work at several art exhibitions, including the Florence Biennale.

Although her career was affected by the political unrest in her country, Circe Maia managed to receive several prestigious awards such as the Premio Nacional de Poesía de Uruguay. 

Jahanara Arzu is a Bangladeshi poet best known for her work as the founding editor of a popular publication called Sultana. Jahanara Arzu's immense contribution to Bengali literature earned her the prestigious Ekushey Padak in 1987.
