Keller was a leading figure in disability rights, women's suffrage, labor rights, and world peace movements. She was affiliated with the Socialist Party of America and played a key role in founding the American Civil Liberties Union. Keller's autobiography, "The Story of My Life," inspired the renowned play and film adaptation "The Miracle Worker."
