Ali Daei is an Iranian football manager and former professional footballer known for his prolific goal-scoring abilities as a striker. He captained the Iranian national team and played in the German Bundesliga for Arminia Bielefeld, Bayern Munich, and Hertha Berlin. Daei held the record for the most international goals until Cristiano Ronaldo surpassed it in 2021. He was appointed a UNICEF Goodwill Ambassador during his playing career and later served on the FIFA Football Committee. Daei was inducted into the Asian Football Hall of Fame in 2014.
