Diogo Jota is a Portuguese football player who plays for the popular Premier League club, Liverpool. Before signing with Liverpool, Diogo Jota played for other popular teams like Atlético Madrid and Wolverhampton Wanderers. Jota is also a prominent member of the Portugal national team.

Sara Sampaio is a Portuguese actress and model renowned for her work as a Victoria's Secret Angel. One of the most popular Portuguese models of her generation, Sampaio has been honored with Portuguese Golden Globes under the Best Female Model category on several occasions. In 2014, she became the first Portuguese model to appear in the Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Issue. 

Portuguese football manager André Villas-Boas, who has most recently managed Marseille, has previously also served teams such as Chelsea and Tottenham Hotspur. He has also managed clubs in Russia and China. A motorsport lover, too, he has competed in the World Rally Championship. He hails from a Portuguese noble family.

Raul Meireles is a Portuguese retired football player who played as a midfielder for the national team in many European Championships and two World Cups between 2006 and 2014. Raul Meireles is best known for winning the 2012 UEFA Champions League while playing for Chelsea.  

Jorge Costa is a Portuguese former football player who played as a defender for the Portugal national team and popular clubs like FC Porto. He earned 45 caps for Portugal and represented Portugal in two European Championships.

Sophia de Mello Breyner Andresen was a Portuguese writer and poet whose remains have been entombed since 2014 in the National Pantheon. Her poetry has been translated into many world languages, including English. Sophia de Mello Breyner Andresen's life and career inspired a 1969 documentary short film, which was director João César Monteiro's first completed film.

Retired Portuguese footballer Paulo Machado has had a successful career as a central midfielder for teams such as Porto and Olympiacos. He has also played for clubs in Croatia, India, and France, and was part of the Portuguese UEFA European Under-17 Championship-winning squad. He is known for his trademark moustache, too.

Almeida Garrett was a Portuguese poet, playwright, novelist, orator, journalist, and politician. He is widely regarded as the most important figure of Portuguese Romanticism. Garrett was also a humanist and great revolutionary. A peer of the realm, Almeida Garrett proposed the creation of the Conservatory of Dramatic Art and the construction of the Queen Maria II National Theatre.

Francisco de Sá Carneiro was a Portuguese politician best remembered for his service as the Prime Minister of Portugal in 1980. He is credited with founding the Social Democratic Party, where he served as the president from 1978 to 1980. Francisco de Sá Carneiro died in a plane crash at age 46 while serving as the Prime Minister of Portugal.

Rui Moreira is a Portuguese politician and businessman. Since 2013, he has been serving as the Mayor of Porto, after having been re-elected for a third consecutive term in September 2021. Prior to his political career, Rui Moreira was a competitive sailor. He has represented Portugal and has won several youth and senior titles.

João Vieira Pinto is a Portuguese former football player who played as a forward for the Portugal national team from 1991 to 2002. Best known for his goalscoring and playmaking ability, Pinto also represented popular clubs like Braga, Benfica, and Sporting CP. In 1992, 1993, and 1994, João Vieira Pinto was named CNID Footballer of the Year.   

Portuguese former football left-winger Duda played for different Spanish clubs during his entire professional career. These included Cádiz CF, Málaga, Levante UD on loan, and Sevilla. He has won several competitions with them including Portuguese League four times, Portuguese Cup twice and Portuguese Super Cup twice. He currently plays for Pick Szeged. He is part of Portuguese national team and played for Portugal at the 2020 European Men's Handball Championship.

Tomás Antônio Gonzaga was a Brazilian poet who also served as the ombudsman and the ouvidor of the city of Ouro Preto. His life and career have been featured in many Brazilian films and telenovels. Popular actors like Eduardo Galvão, Luiz Linhares, and Gianfrancesco Guarnieri have played Tomás Antônio Gonzaga on-screen.

António Nobre was a Portuguese poet best remembered for his magnum opus Só, a collection of poems. Só was the only work published during his lifetime and two other works of his were published posthumously. His contribution to literature was honored by erecting a monument for him in Leça da Palmeira.

Miguel Sousa Tavares is a Portuguese writer, journalist, and lawyer. He is best known for his literary fiction Equador, which is based on the life of a governor of São Tomé e Príncipe. Equador sold more than 220,000 copies in 2003 and was counted among the best-selling books in Portugal. Miguel Sousa Tavares also contributes to publications like A Bola.

Júlio Dinis was a Portuguese poet, novelist, playwright, and physician. He is best remembered for his novels, which are still widely read in Portugal. Many of his works, such as As Pupilas do Senhor Reitor, have been adapted into successful films and TV series.
