Aaliyah Jay created her channel ‘MsAaliyahJay’ on November 15, 2011. However, she did not post any videos on it for almost a year. Her first video, titled ‘Daily Make Up Routine’, was posted on October 1, 2012. Her next upload was the video titled ‘'No make-up' Make Up Trick (tutorial)’, which was posted on April 29, 2013. This then set the tone for her channel. On 4 August, she uploaded a “get ready with me” video. As time went on, her content started to become more diversified. She put out her first DIY video on December 15, 2014. On January 15, 2015, she published her first Q&A video. She posted her first official vlog, titled ‘VLOG - Flawless Face Makeup Seminar by Aaliyah’, on February 10, 2015. Since then, she has established herself as one of the most prominent beauty gurus on the platform. Some of the most popular videos on her channel are ‘Story Time: I met the side-chick!’, ‘How I Lay My Wigs | Aaliyahjay’, ‘How to: Apply Lashes Properly& Quickly (Informative)’, ‘Pretty & Flawless | ALL drugstore products Makeup tutorial’, and ‘How To: Highlight & Contour (Beginner Friendly) | Aaliyahjay’.

On September 15, 2013, she created ‘Aaliyahs Life’ YouTube channel with the intention to use it for vlogging. Despite having 10 thousand subscribers on it, she has not posted any video there as yet.

The oldest photograph on her Instagram was posted on August 13, 2013. It is a picture of Aaliyah herself standing on the front stairs of a Carlo Pazolini store. She posted her first Instagram video on July 21, 2014. In the ensuing years, she has uploaded well over a thousand videos and photographs. At present, her posts often garner hundreds of thousands likes each. She has a secondary account under the username @aaliyahjayarmy, on which she has acquired a little over 30 thousand followers to date. She started posting content there on January 19, 2019.
