Aisling Franciosi is an Irish-Italian actress, who is known for her role of Katie Benedetto in the crime drama TV series ‘The Fall’. She is also known for her role in the TV series ‘Legends’, where she played the role of Kate Crawford. It aired in 2014 and 2015 for two seasons. She played the role of Lyanna Stark, younger and only sister of Eddard Stark, one of the major characters of the series. Aisling Franciosi’s television career began with a guest role in the TV series ‘Trivia’, in 2012. The next year, she began appearing in ‘The Fall’, a British-Irish crime drama. The story revolved around an investigating officer named Stella Gibson, who is looking for a serial killer on the loose, who is attacking young and professional women. The series aired between 2013 and 2016, covering three seasons. The show also won several awards such as the ‘Edgar Allan Poe Award’, and the ‘Broadcasting Press Guild Award’. Franciosi also received the Irish Film and Television Award, in 2015, for her role of Katie Benedetto, in the ‘Best Supporting Actress’, category.
She made her feature film debut in 2014, in the drama ‘Jimmy’s Hall’. Directed by Ken Loach, the film is about the deportation of Jimmy Gralton to the US. Gralton was the leader of the Revolutionary Workers Group. The film received mostly positive reviews from critics. The same year, she also played Phoebe Griffin, one of the main characters in the crime drama series ‘Quirke’. The series had three episodes, and was based on the Quirke novels by John Banville. The next year, she had a guest role in an episode of the British crime drama series ‘Vera’. The series was based on a series of novels of the same name by Ann Cleeves. She was next seen in a main role in the second season of the crime drama series ‘Legends’.

The film was about a young woman seeking revenge for a terrible act that was committed against her family. The film premiered on 6th September 2018, at the 75th Venice International Film Festival. It has received mostly positive reviews. The movie also won several awards and nominations. Franciosi won the Australian Academy of Cinema and Television Arts Award in the ‘Best Leading Actress’ category.
