Alex Cloutier Bio

Alex Cloutier was born on October 23, 1998, in the United States of America. Her parents met while her mother, Robin Boutwell-O'Shea, was employed at a printing company. Alex’s father was her client. What started strictly as a professional acquaintance gradually became a romantic relationship. After dating for a year, Robin became pregnant with Alex when she was 38 years old. Three months into the pregnancy, they made the decision to tie the knot. However, after the wedding, Cloutier’s father became increasingly more abusive towards Robin, who immediately filed for divorce. They were married for a little over three months. Robin subsequently moved in with her mother, Alex Cloutier’s grandmother.

According to Alex Cloutier, as her mother was a workaholic, she was predominantly raised by her grandmother. Her maternal uncle, Daniel James Coon, always played an important role in her upbringing. In the absence of her biological father, Daniel served as the paternal figure in her life. At some point, Robin was involved in a car accident that left her disabled and forced her to stop working. For Cloutier, this proved to be a “blessing in disguise”, as her mother had more time to spend with her.

Alex Cloutier was quite young when her uncle was diagnosed with brain cancer. He himself was young, only 25 years old. He fought the disease for 11 years, eventually passing away in November 2013. During this period, she developed an interest in hip-hop dancing, which helped her in coping with her circumstances.

Alex Courtier met Patrick Cloutier when they both were in middle school. He would later reveal to her that he had a crush on her but did not say anything at the time. They met again sometime later, and after realising that the interest was mutual, began dating. At age 17, they found out that she was pregnant. She is pro-choice and chose to keep the child. On March 7, 2017, Greyson James Cloutier was born. They named him after the popular medical drama series, ‘Grey’s Anatomy’. His middle name comes from Cloutier’s late uncle Daniel.

Alex Cloutier and Patrick’s relationship suffered in the months after Greyson’s birth, which ultimately led to their separation. However, the couple reunited two months later and has been together since. In late 2018, they got married in Las Vegas.

Unlike many other teenage parents, neither Alex nor Patrick had any intention of being dependant on their own parents. They both immediately started working and saving money. After their reconciliation, they found better work at a corporate office.

Alex Cloutier created her YouTube channel on August 30, 2016, under the username MommyCloutier, to preserve memories for Greyson. She believed that this was the best photo album she could make for him. She posted the first video, titled ‘17 and Pregnant: How I Found Out’, on December 7, 2016. In it, she candidly speaks about her situation, mentions Patrick and her relationship with him, and talks about her plans for the future. In her next video, posted two days later, she speaks about her parents’ reaction to the news. Both her mother and grandmother were supportive, although her mother was also disappointed. Even her estranged father took the news well.

In the ensuing months, as she found solid footing in real life, her channel began to attract a significant amount of traffic. Through the channel, she discovered a number of girls who could relate to her story. She even found a deep interest for editing and videography, In time, Dear Greyson, became bigger than a place to hold the memories for her son, emerging as a platform for her to entertain others.

Since his birth, Greyson has been regularly featured on the channel. On September 20, 2018, Cloutier announced through YouTube that she was pregnant with their second child in a live pregnancy test video. This time, she chose to give birth at home. She and Patrick welcomed their second son, August, into the world in April 2019. She vlogged the birthing process in a video titled ‘HOME WATER BIRTH VLOG *EMOTIONAL*’, which was posted on May 6, 2019.

In the oldest post on her Instagram, shared on November 26, 2013, she eulogized her uncle Daniel. She shares photographs from her travel, selfies, and pictures and videos of her family and friends on the platform.
