However, their relationship was interrupted after graduation, as Alice moved on to pursue her career. Meanwhile, she went to 'Oxford,' where she had an affair with poet Adam O’Riodan. Adam and Alice broke up in 2012. Alice was rumored to be dating her co-star Chris Evans after the two were spotted enjoying each other’s company on a dinner date in New York City in December 2013. However, none of them ever spoke about their rumored relationship.

Alex and Alice again met each other and rekindled their high-school romance. In July 2014, Alex proposed marriage to Alice. Like a gentleman, before popping the question to Alice, he first sought her father’s permission while they were on a family vacation in Ibiza. As a couple, Alex and Alice made their first public appearance at a ‘Virgin Atlantic’ event held at London’s 'Village Underground.'
