Thorne had previously announced that she was in a polyamorous relationship with both musician Mod Sun and social-media personality Tana Mongeau. They eventually split up. Thorne identified herself as pansexual after she began dating Italian singer Benjamin Mascolo of the pop duo 'Benji & Fede' in April 2019.

Much in line with her previous relationship announcements, Thorne revealed her relationship with Martini in October 2019, through an 'Instagram' post. However, the post was cryptic and led Thorne's fans to wonder who the other girl was, as her face was hidden in the picture. Later, some of her fans identified her as Alex Martini. The passionate 'Instagram' post had the caption "She's the very cute first girl I have dated that's camera shy."

Martini's identity-reveal became easier because of Thorne's ex-partner, Mongeau, who commented "Yes Martini!" on the post. The comment also hinted at Mongeau's approval of the relationship. Apart from Mongeau, Thorne's current male partner, Benjamin Mascolo, too, approved of her relationship with Martini, as he commented ''You girls are so cute."

Thorne and Martini were spotted holding hands and were in high spirits while coming out of the ‘Toronto International Airport.’

According to sources, Thorne has broken up with Mascolo, but the news is not confirmed. Some sources state Thorne is in a relationship with both Mascolo and Martini at the same time.

Martini works as a second unit director (or assistant director). She has been a crew member of several productions. In 2014, she was a set production assistant for 10 episodes of 'Keeping Up with the Kardashians' and for eight episodes each of 'Project Runway: Threads' and 'Skin Wars.' Subsequently, Martini assisted the production of 'Six Degrees of Everything' (2015, 10 episodes), the TV movie 'Grease Live!' (2016), and '@midnight' (2015–2016, 63 episodes)

In 2016, Martini was a principal set production assistant in eight episodes (set production assistant in two episodes) of 'The Meltdown with Jonah and Kumail.' She has also worked as a set production assistant in 'Kong: Skull Island' (reshoots), 'Making History,' 'Transformers: The Last Knight' ('Phoenix'), 'The Orville,' 'Bright' (second unit), 'Another Period,' 'GLOW' (12 episodes), 'Venom' (reshoots), 'Dirty John,' 'Stuber' (reshoots), 'Arrested Development' (15 episodes), 'The OA,' 'Booksmart' (basecamp), 'Birds of Prey: And the Fantabulous Emancipation of One Harley Quinn' (post-production, reshoots), 'Mainstream' (post-production), 'Devs' (post-production), and 'Come Away' (post-production, basecamp).

Martini has also worked as a camera and electrical department member, or as a first assistant camera person, in the short 'Can You See That?' and the series 'The Noise in Your Head.'

She has been the assistant director for 'Destroyer' (key set production assistant), 'Devs,' and 'Southland' (post-production).

Martini was born on April 14, 1990, to Pete and Kristin Martini. She is from California. She has a younger sister named Kylan and another sibling named Cade.

Martini is a tattoo lover. She has a massive tattoo on her back, which she had shared through an 'Instagram' picture posted on September 16, 2019.
