Alexandra Beaton is a Canadian actress and dancer who gained worldwide fame for her role as Emily in ‘The Next Step’, a television drama series for teens. She started her career in acting at the early age of 12 by making an appearance in the 2006 American war film '300.' She became known after her appearance in 'The Next Step', a series about a group of dancers attending the Next Step dance studio. She played the role of Emily—a very stubborn but talented girl who is also the dance captain of the studio—throughout the several seasons of the show. Despite her young age, Beaton became quite appreciated not just for her good acting skills but also because of her amazing skills in dancing. She has also made numerous appearances in ads and commercials, including one for Roger Cell Phones and one in which she starred in a Shoppers Drug Mart print campaign ‘Four Sisters.’ Beaton had taken part in a campaign for Health Canada in a theatre advertising campaign as well. She is a good speaker and she devotes considerable time for mentoring young girls through programs such as ‘Young Women on the Move.’
