Alexi Ashe Meyers is an American human rights attorney presently affiliated with Sanctuary for Families, which is a prominent service provider and advocate for survivors of domestic violence, sex trafficking, and similar kinds of gender violence. She is the wife of comedian and television host Seth Meyers. A native of New Mexico, Ashe attended Occidental College and Southwestern University School of Law. During her time at the law school, she served as a refugee representation legal intern at Human Rights First. She began her professional career in 2007 as a policy and research analyst at the Los Angeles City Attorney’s Office. In July 2013, she was hired as an assistant district attorney at the Brooklyn DA’s Special Victims Bureau and Human Trafficking Bureau. After leaving that job, she joined Sanctuary for Families and later became a member of the board of directors of Human Rights First. She also serves as a co-chair of the New York State Anti-Trafficking Coalition.

Childhood & Early Life
Alexi Ashe was born on April 1, 1983, in New Mexico, to Joan and Tom Ashe. She has a sister named Ariel, who is an interior decorator and co-founder of the design firm Ashe + Leandro with architect Reinaldo Leandro. The sisters grew up in Albuquerque.
After graduating from high school, Ashe enrolled in Occidental College in 2002, pursuing a Bachelor’s of Arts degree in political science and government. She graduated in 2006 and went on to attend Southwestern University School of Law in 2009. Ashe received her Doctorate of Law in international human rights in 2011.

Career
After graduating from college and prior to enrolling in the law school, she worked as a policy and research analyst at Los Angeles City Attorney’s Office from March 2007 to April 2009. Her work there included helping in creating a gang prevention curricula for middle school students, holding truancy hearings in LAUSD, taking part in child abuse death review panel, and hosting community presentations at local police precincts. From April to June 2011, she worked as a legal intern at Somaly Mam Foundation, where she wrote down a legal guideline for lawyers utilizing civil litigation against sex traffickers.
At some point, she relocated from Los Angeles to New York City and joined King’s County District Attorney’s Office as a pro bono assistant DA in 2011. She oversaw investigations into long-term complex criminal prosecutions in the Sex Trafficking Unit as well as prepared documents for legal motion and memoranda of law. Between December 2011 and February 2012, she worked as a refugee representation legal intern at Human Rights First, conducting interviews with both clients and attorneys in order to record their experience with the US asylum process. She also conducted research on protection protocols that are utilized in the international level for victims of human trafficking and domestic violence. In April 2012, she landed a new job as a legal counsel and compliance at AC Investment Management, an investment service in New York.
After leaving AC Investment in December 2012, she started working as a grants writer and legal intern at World Wide Orphan Foundation, located in Maplewood, New Jersey. As part of WWOF, she went to Haiti to investigate new program models, draft grants, and hold fundraising events. In January 2013, she became a member of the advisory board of Journeys in Film, an initiative that seeks to educate people with films.
In July 2013, Ashe became an assistant DA at King’s Country District Attorney Office, in Brooklyn, New York, working in the Special Victims Bureau and Human Trafficking Bureau. Later, she left the job to assume the duties of an attorney at Sanctuary for Families. In January 2018, she was made a member of Human Rights First’s board of directors. She has been listed among New York’s most prominent “New Abolitionists” for her unrelenting work against human trafficking. Besides English, Ashe is also fluent in French.
Relationship with Seth Meyers
Alexi Ashe is married to comedian Seth Meyers. A Primetime Emmy winner, Meyers hails from Evanston, Illinois and grew up first in Okemos, Michigan and later in Bedford, New Hampshire. He is the host of NBC’s late-night talk show ‘Late Night with Seth Meyers’. From 2001 to 2014, he was a member of the cast of ‘Saturday Night Live’ and also served as the head writer on the show.
Ashe met Meyers at actor Chris Kattan’s wedding in June 2008. At the time, Ashe’s sister, Ariel, was working in the design department of SNL. In July 2013, they got engaged. However, their wedding almost did not happen after Ashe suffered food poisoning at their rehearsal dinner and had to be taken to the emergency room. The wedding did eventually take place on September 1, 2013, on Martha's Vineyard. They have two children together, Ashe Olson Meyers (born March 27, 2016) and Axel Strahl Meyers (April 8, 2018). The latter was born in the lobby of his parents’ New York apartment.
Alexi Ashe, alongside other members of the Meyers family, has made several appearances on ‘Late Night with Seth Meyers’.
