Alyson Hannigan Biography

Alyson Hannigan began appearing in television commercials at the age of four. A few years later, she signed her first major film role in the 1988 flick ‘My Stepmother Is an Alien’. The following year, she made her TV debut, appearing in the sitcom ‘Free Spirit’. Then in 1997, she started playing Willow Rosenberg in the series ‘Buffy the Vampire Slayer’. The series was a success and this subsequently gave the actress opportunities to act in the movies ‘American Pie’, ‘American Pie 2’, ‘Boys and Girls’ and ‘American Wedding’. During this time period, she also had a guest role in the Buffy spin-off titled ‘Angel’.

In 2004, Hannigan made her stage debut, appearing in an adaptation of ‘When Harry Met Sally’ opposite Luke Perry. Three years later, the American beauty reprised her role as Michelle in the flick ‘American Reunion’. In 2016, she began hosting ‘Penn & Teller: Fool Us’, a magic competition TV program. from 2018 to 2022, she voiced Claire Clancy in the animated series ‘Fancy Nancy’.

She starred as ‘Phyllis Buckman’ in the 2021 superhero comedy film ‘Flora & Ulysses.’ The film received a positive response from critics and received a 73% approval score on Rotten Tomatoes. She also appeared in television shows like ‘Martha Gets Down and Dirty,’ ‘Adorableness,’ ‘Doogie Kameāloha, M.D.,’ and ‘Office Race.’ In 2023, she appeared in the 32nd season of the American dance competition show ‘Dancing with the Stars.’

Alyson Hannigan was born on March 24, 1974, in Washington, D.C., USA to Alan Hannigan and Emilie Haas. Her father, an Irishman, served as a Teamsters trucker, while her mother, a Jewish lady, worked as a real estate agent. She studied at North Hollywood High School and later enrolled at the California State University, Northridge. Coming to her love life, Hannigan married actor Alexis Denisof on October 11, 2003. As of now, the couple has two daughters.
