Amir Arison is an American film, television and theatre actor. He is popular for his role of Aram Mojtabai, an FBI agent in the crime thriller series ‘The Blacklist’. Arison was born in St. Louis, Missouri to a Jewish family of Israeli descent. He studied at the University of Columbia. His acting career began in theatre, with plays, such as ‘Omnium Gatherum’, and ‘Modern Orthodox’. His television career began with a guest role in the soap opera ‘Guiding Light’. Soon, he started appearing in movies as well such as ‘Day Zero’, ‘I Hate Valentine’s Day’, and ‘A Friggin’ Christmas Miracle’. His most known work is his role of Aram Mojtabai in the crime thriller TV series ‘Blacklist’. He has appeared in all the seasons of the series so far.

Career
Early in Amir Arison’s career, he played guest roles in several TV shows. Some of them include ‘Guiding Light’, ‘Law & Order’, ‘Hope & Faith’ and ‘Law & Order: Criminal Intent’. He made his film debut in the 2007 film ‘Day Zero’, playing the role of a lawyer. The same year, he also appeared in two other movies, ‘The Visitor’, playing a character named Mr. Shah and ‘Anamorph’, where he played a profiler.
In 2008, he played the recurring role of an FBI agent in the soap opera ‘As the World Turns’. In 2009, he had a supporting role in the romantic comedy film ‘I hate Valentine’s Day’. Arison next appeared in the comedy film ‘Today’s Special’. It had a mixed cast of several Indian as well as American actors.
Between 2009 and 2011, he was seen in the TV series ‘Law & Order: SpecialVictims Unit’, in a recurring role, playing a character named Dr. Manning. He next played guest roles in few other TV shows like ‘American Horror Story: Murder House’, and ‘The Mentalist’. Between 2012 and 2013, he also appeared in ‘H+: The Digital Series’, in one of the main roles. The series received generally positive reviews. In 2013, he had another recurring role in the series ‘Zero Hour’. Meanwhile, his works on the big screen include ‘Vamps’ (2012), ‘A Friggin’ Christmas Miracle’ (2014), ‘Jane Wants a Boyfriend’, (2015), ‘Before the Sun Explodes’ (2016) and ‘20 Weeks’ (2017).
His most significant work in his entire career is the crime thriller series ‘Blacklist’, which began airing in September 2013. So far, Arison has appeared in all the seasons, in his role of Aram Mojtabai, an FBI cyber expert. The series has received praise from critics as well, and has won one Emmy Award as well as one ASCAP Film and Television Music Award. The series is about Raymond Reddington, an infamous criminal and a former Navy officer who chooses to surrender voluntarily to the FBI, and tells them that he has a list of the world’s most dangerous criminals, and he will exchange it to them for immunity from prosecution.
