Early Life & Career

Anne de Paula was born on March 31, 1995, in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. She grew up in one of Rio de Janeiro’s favelas where soccer is an integral part. Encouraged by her father, who wanted his daughter to become a soccer player, Paula started playing soccer at the age of eight.

Spending much of her childhood playing soccer with boys, Paula grew up a tomboy. She went on to play soccer for her school team and subsequently represented her city.

Paula had to give up playing soccer when she started modeling at the age of 13. Though she was not interested in posing in front of the camera her mother encouraged her to try modeling.

After starting modeling at a young age, Paula was introduced to the ‘Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Issue’ by her mother. She then started working towards becoming a bikini model and competed at the ‘Swimsuit Model Search’ contest. After winning the competition, Paula went on to become a successful bikini model, thanks to her impeccable posing skills. Not surprisingly, her Instagram account started gathering many followers which increased her popularity on other social media platforms, including Twitter.

Though she does not have a YouTube channel, her videos, which are posted on the official channel of ‘Sports Illustrated Swimsuit,’ are quite popular on YouTube.

Anne de Paula is currently signed with the popular New York City-based modeling and talent agency ‘Wilhelmina Models.’

Anne de Paula was in a relationship with Irish singer and songwriter Danny O’Donoghue who is the lead vocalist of a rock band named ‘The Script.’ O’Donoghue and Paula started dating after working together for a music video titled ‘No Good in Goodbye.’ They dated for three years during which they went on to make public appearances before going their separate ways.

After breaking up with Danny O’Donoghue, Paula started dating professional basketball player Joel Embiid. They were first seen together in China when Embiid took part in ‘NBA China Games’ in October 2018 while representing his team ‘Philadelphia 76ers.’ When their relationship became apparent, they started attending public events together, and Paula began featuring Embiid on her official Instagram page.

Anne de Paula practices ‘Muay Thai’ to ensure she stays fit and healthy. She also loves cooking and does not refrain from experimenting with new dishes in her kitchen.
