Anthony Lasuzzo Biography

Anthony Lasuzzo was born on March 27, 1950. After graduating from high school, he went to the ‘University of Louisiana at Monroe’ (ULM) from where he graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree in geology, in 1972. In 1974, he received a Master of Science degree in geology from the same university. Lasuzzo started his career as an independent geologist, in 1974. He then went on to work with many major and independent oil and gas companies. In March 1997, he joined ‘Indian Oil Company’ as an executive vice president and director. From April 1999 to October 2000, he served the company as a consultant. In November 2000, he was appointed as the chief operating officer of ‘Canaan Energy Corporation.’ He then went on to serve as the chief operating officer and senior vice president of ‘Chesapeake KNAN Acquisition, LLC’ whose parent organization ‘Chesapeake Energy’ had acquired ‘Canaan Energy Corporation’ in 2002. Lasuzzo had an illustrious career that spanned more than four decades during which he was considered one of the most respected oil geologists in the United States of America. Apart from being an oil geologist, Lasuzzo is also a wildlife photographer. As it turned out, his passion for wildlife photography became instrumental in him meeting Reba McEntire.

Anthony Lasuzzo met Reba Nell McEntire when the latter was vacationing in Jackson Hole, Wyoming, where Lasuzzo, too, was staying to photograph the wildlife. They were introduced by their mutual friend singer Kix Brooks who asked Lasuzzo to drive McEntire around as he was familiar with the place. Lasuzzo asked her out on a date when McEntire returned to Jackson Hole a couple of months later. She ended up spending almost a week with him before considering a serious relationship. The couple made their first public appearance at the 2018 ‘Grammy Awards’ where McEntire was honored with the ‘Grammy Award for Best Roots Gospel Album’ for her thirty-second studio album ‘Sing It Now: Songs of Faith & Hope.’

Following their first public appearance, Lasuzzo and McEntire started attending various public events, including ‘Celebrity Fight Night XXIV’ where they were seen walking down the red carpet. In December 2018, Lasuzzo accompanied McEntire to Washington where she received her ‘Kennedy Center Honor.’ The popular singer spends most of her time in Jackson Hole and Pottsboro, Texas, where Lasuzzo owns residences. They often visit McEntire's family home in Oklahoma, which is a mere 90-minute drive from Lasuzzo's home in Texas. They love traveling together to popular holiday destinations across the world and have been to countries like South Africa, Italy, and Iceland. Reba McEntire often posts their pictures on her social media pages, allowing her followers to take a sneak peek at their recent ventures.

Anthony Lasuzzo was previously married to Marolyn Tyler Lasuzzo with whom he has four children, namely Holli, Kristi, Tyler, and Blake. He has five grandchildren through his daughters and son. Marolyn Tyler Lasuzzo passed away in 2013, at the age of 65 after losing a seven-year battle to breast cancer. Apart from traveling and capturing the wildlife through the lenses of his camera, Lasuzzo spends a lot of time meditating. In one of her interviews, McEntire said that Lasuzzo meditates often and he also loves mountains.
