Ariana Berlin is an American gymnast, dancer, and actress. She is best known for competing for the ‘UCLA Bruins women’s gymnastics team,’ even after meeting with a terrible car accident. Her comeback story speaks of her indomitable spirit and her will to achieve her dreams. Her story was adapted into a TV movie, which was titled ‘Full Out: The Ariana Berlin Movie.’ After recovering from the accident, Ariana started learning break dance as she was convinced that her dream of becoming a gymnast was over. However, she could not get gymnastics out of her head as she was always surrounded by gymnasts. She then decided to give gymnastics another shot and started her training with the help of her coach. She had a long-time dream of competing in various competitions for the ‘UCLA Bruins.’ She was eventually able to realize her dream, thanks to her strong work ethic and dedication. She is now one of the most successful gymnasts in the history of ‘UCLA Bruins.’ She is also associated with TV shows and has worked for many shows, such as ‘Three Rivers,’ ‘NCIS: Los Angeles,’ ‘90210,’ ‘Make It or Break It,’ and ‘Shake It Up!’

Childhood & Early Life

Ariana Alyse Berlin was born in San Diego, California, on October 29, 1987. She was raised by her parents, Howard and Susan Berlin. Ariana wanted to become a gymnast.

She attended ‘Patrick Henry High School’ and later went to ‘The University of California,’ Los Angeles. She started training at a very young age, hoping to become a world-class gymnast. But little did she know that her journey would be full of struggle.

Ariana competed at the club level to become a part of the 1999 ‘Level 9 Western Championships.’ She started her training at ‘SCEGA Gymnastics’ and later trained at ‘South Coast Gymnastics.’

Car Accident

Ariana was just 14 years old when fate played spoilsport. She had gone shopping with her mother, and while they were driving on the freeway, a speeding car rammed into their car. The impact was such that Ariana’s car rolled over multiple times before coming to a halt. The accident almost crushed her hopes of becoming a professional gymnast.

While her mother suffered a minor mental trauma, a broken shoulder, and a broken tibia, Ariana was forced to stay in an induced coma for five days. She suffered two collapsed lungs, a broken wrist, broken ribs, a broken leg, and a broken collarbone.

Career

Though she started recovering from her injury, it became almost impossible for her to start her training again. She then decided to take part in break dance classes. Ariana joined a San Diego dance troupe called ‘Culture Shock.’ She was the youngest member of the troupe.

While performing at ‘SeaWorld San Diego,’ she met the head coach of ‘UCLA Bruins gymnastics,’ Valorie Kondos Field, who was impressed with Ariana’s will and determination to make it big.

After a few interactions with Valorie, Ariana realized that her love for gymnastics would stay with her forever. After consulting her head coach, she decided to give gymnastics another shot.

She then started her training to compete for the ‘UCLA Bruins gymnastics team.’ At the age of 17, she joined ‘UCLA Bruins women’s gymnastics team.’ She competed in the 2005-06 season as a walk-on but was offered a scholarship for the next season.

Ariana eventually became a world-class gymnast and her name was included in the hypothetical sports team ‘All-America’ on four different occasions. She is also known as one of the most successful gymnasts at ‘UCLA.’ Currently, she is seeking better and bigger opportunities to take her career forward.

Other Major Works

Ariana has worked as a stunt performer in a handful of TV shows. A few of them are ‘Three Rivers,’ ‘NCIS: Los Angeles,’ ‘90210,’ ‘Make It or Break It,’ and ‘Shake It Up!’

She has also worked as a stunt double for TV shows, such as ‘Switched at Birth,’ ‘Honey 2,’ ‘Greek,’ and ‘The Fosters.’ She has worked as an associate producer for two documentaries, namely ‘89 Blocks’ and ‘Shot In the Dark.’

In 2015, Ariana’s life story was made into a TV movie, which was titled ‘Full Out: The Ariana Berlin Movie.’ Ariana herself played a ‘UCLA’ coach in the movie.

Personal Life

According to reports, Ariana is dating a man named Jimmy Rotstein, who she met at ‘UCLA.’ She also shared a picture on Instagram in which she was wearing a wedding band. The photograph sparked engagement rumors, but Ariana has not shared anything on this.
