Ashley's profile page on ABC website mentioned her as a nanny and a football fan. After completing her education, she worked as a sport reporter and freelance journalist for some time, before appearing on ABC's hit reality television show The Bachelor. On the show, she gained notoriety for her over-sensitive disposure and excessive crying. She stole the spotlight by claiming to be a virgin, who was never involved in a relationship or had a boyfriend. However, all the attention failed to win her the contest. But, she was able to leave a lasting impression on the audience, as a result of which, she was re-selected as a contestant on the show Bachelor in Paradise. Since then, she has appeared on a number of television shows as herself.

On social media, Ashley Iaconetti describes herself as "either optimistic or delusional". However, she is actually a multifaceted genius who has worked as a sports reporter, a freelance writer and videographer. She is the owner and CEO of E & S Media Creations, which provides video services on wedding, sports, and corporate occasions. She has previously worked for Yoshitoshi Recordings as an assistant and also for Entertainment Industries Council.

She has a blog where she posts her thoughts on The Bachelor. She also writes blogs on a vast array of topics, often providing advice to her readers on a variety of issues ranging from dating to skin problems. Ashley, who is infamous for excessive onscreen crying, mentioned in her blog that she is creating an emotional revolution. Discussing emotion-shaming, she urged her readers to express their feelings without being afraid of social norms or feeling vulnerable.

Ashley Iaconetti stirred up controversy after she posted a blog article on Cosmopolitan and opened up on the heinous editing techniques employed by ABC network on its reality show Bachelor in Paradise. She alleged that the episode in which she had an altercation with fellow contestant Caila Quinn was heavily edited and was totally different from the actual conversation that they had. She immediately edited the post and included a disclaimer in the end of the article, mentioning that she had to edit the article due to her contractual obligations with ABC for being on the reality TV show. However, screenshot of the original post was leaked online, revealing her inputs on the issue to the public.

Ashley Iaconetti was born on March 6, 1988, in Great Fall, Virginia to Italian parents. She has a sister named Lauren Iaconetti, who also appeared in Bachelor in Paradise. 

She graduated from Langley High School in Northern Virginia in 2006 and then attended James Madison University for Media Arts and Design. She got her master's degree from S.I. Newhouse School of Public Communications at Syracuse University, New York. After graduating from Newhouse School, she worked as an intern at Syracuse's ABC affiliate NewsChannel 9 WSYR.

After being eliminated from The Bachelor in its 19th season, she claimed that her feelings for the season's Bachelor, Iowa farmer Chris Soules, were genuine. She has also been linked to her co-star Jared Haibon from Bachelor in Paradise. They were spotted together after she was eliminated from the show, but she claimed that they are just good friends and understand each other very well. She married Jared Haibon in August 2019. The couple welcomed a son named Dawson in January 2022.
