Through continuous practice he has honed his skills enough to take it to the masses. He teamed up with his younger brother Mateo and the duo started doing school performances and going around the competitive circuit. Initially, he would record these videos in their home’s basement or living room but gradually moved on to more public spaces like malls or school corridors. Gradually, he started getting noticed by dance enthusiasts who really appreciated their brand of dancing. He started doing these challenge themed dance performances and introduced the REVERSE style. For this Ayo basically performed the hugely popular dance steps in reverse order creating this uniquely giddy dance phenomenon that went viral overnight. His choreography for the number ‘Nae Nae’ by Silento became the hottest thing on the internet overnight. The video was shared around various social media platforms and very soon garnered 150 million plus views.

Ayo, along with his brother Mateo, has developed his own dancing style that has been applauded by viewers from all over the world. Along with their dance they have continuously adopted new styles appearance wise as well. In his videos, Ayo is seen to be sporting a mask over his mouth. When asked why he wears it, he revealed that he does so to keep viewers from getting distracted by his facial expression which might get a bit bizarre at times. He also said that he keeps changing the mask to reflect some specific messages that is close to his heart. Although Ayo admitted that they didn’t really start the trend of wearing the mask, they were instrumental in popularizing it for sure. Ayleo was born on October 30, 1996 in Ann Arbor, Michigan, but not much is known about the dancer’s family background. Ayleo graduated high school form Willow Run High School. Yipsilanti, Michigan and started attending college at the University of Michigan.

His dancing inspirations have been Michael Jackson, Chris Brown and Missy Elliot. Apart from their dancing career, Ayo has also set his eyes on a career in music and he started that out with the release of the Rap/Hip-Hop number Rolex in 2017 along with his brother Teo. The video has managed to attract more than 40 million views since it has been launched.
