Brendan Mcloughlin was born in 1991 in Staten Island, New York City, New York, United States. He is the youngest of three children of James McLoughlin and Inova Valerio McLoughlin, and has a brother named Patrick and a sister named Jocelyn. His mother is a retired NYPD detective. He graduated from Monsignor Farrell High School in 2009. While studying in school, he ran track and participated in the indoor track and field state championships in 2008 in hurdles and pole vault. He was part of a relay team as well, and competed in pole vault in outdoor track.

Relationship with Miranda Lambert

Brendan Mcloughlin met Miranda Lambert on November 2, 2018, when she performed on 'Good Morning America'. He was stationed at the Times Square area, where the ABC morning show was being filmed, and was spotted by Pistol Annies members Ashley Monroe and Angaleena Presley, who secretly invited him on the show and arranged a meeting between the singer and the police officer.

They had a whirlwind romance for over a couple months and tied the knot on January 26, 2019 in Davidson County, Tennessee. They kept the whole affair a secret for the time being, but on Valentine's Day the next month, Lambert surprised everyone by revealing through her Instagram profile that she was married to the NYPD officer. She posted a picture of them from their wedding ceremony and captioned it, "In honor of Valentine’s Day I wanted to share some news. I met the love of my life. And we got hitched! My heart is full. Thank you Brendan Mcloughlin for loving me for…. me." Two days later, they were photographed together for the first time while walking in New York City, sporting their wedding rings.

Miranda Lambert was previously married to singer Blake Shelton for four years from May 2011 to July 2015, after years of dating. She had also dated R&B singer Anderson East from December 2015 to early 2018 and Turnpike Troubadours frontman, Evan Felker, from February to August 2018, when he was already married.

A few days after Brendan Mcloughlin first met Miranda Lambert, he welcomed a son named Landon with a woman named Kaihla Rettinger, an attorney from Bayside, New York, with whom he had a fling earlier. The affair happened when he was engaged to another woman, Jackie Bruno, which was later revealed by her mother Carol Bruno in February 2019, after the news of his marriage to the country singer was public. Talking to 'Us Magazine', Carol also mentioned that Jackie broke up with Mcloughlin after Rettinger messaged Jackie to inform her that she was seven months pregnant with Mcloughlin's child. He had initially denied having the child, and even begged Jackie to marry him before she went abroad for a few months to play soccer. Kaihla Rettinger has not yet made any comments on his recent marriage or their son.
