Bria Murphy Biography

Bria was born Bria Liana Murphy, on November 18, 1989, in Sacramento, California, US, to popular comedian, actor, writer, singer, and producer Eddie Murphy and former fashion model, TV personality, and designer Nicole Mitchell Murphy. Bria has four siblings: Shayne Audra, Bella, Zola, and Myles. Her half-brothers Eric and Christian were born to Eddie and his former girlfriends, Paulette McNeely and Tamara Hood, respectively.

Bria’s parents divorced due to irreconcilable differences in 2006. The divorce was filed in August 2005 and was finalized on April 17, 2006. Following this, Eddie has been in multiple relationships and has fathered more children. Her first younger half-sister, Angel Iris, was born to Eddie and his then-girlfriend, former 'Spice Girl' Melanie Brown. Eddie later dated model Paige Butcher and fathered a daughter, Izzy, and a son, Max Charles, with her.

Bria is the eldest of the four siblings in the family. She was homeschooled until ninth grade. She played volleyball and basketball in high school. Bria did not have to struggle a lot to start her career in the film industry. She got several opportunities to explore the industry when she was a child. However, she took her time to know the craft better before she stepped into the world of glamor. Bria is highly interested in art and drawing. The inspiration behind her will to become an artist was 'Alice in Wonderland,' one of her all-time favorite animated movies.

Bria has always shown her interest in modeling and acting. Her acting career began in 2011, when she was cast in the TV series 'Love That Girl!' She played the role of ‘Angel’ in an episode of the show. The following year, she appeared in an episode of the comedy–drama 'Baby Daddy.' She played the brief role of ‘Nis’ in the 2013 TV movie 'The Start Up.’ In 2014, she appeared in eight episodes of the TV series 'Hollywood Exes.' In 2015, Bria played herself in the romantic-comedy series 'The Game.'

Bria made her film debut with the 2016 comedy movie 'Amateur Night,' which had her playing the role of a prostitute named ‘Jaxi’ and starring alongside actor Ashley Tisdale. The same year, she essayed the brief role of ‘Mimi’ in the romantic comedy 'The Perfect Match.'

Bria followed in the footsteps of her mother and also ventured into the world of modeling. She has been part of a few modeling projects, though none of them have been too prominent. Bria, however, wishes to become a 'Victoria’s Secret Angel.' She has signed a contract with 'LA Models.' Bria was named the global ambassador for 'Dark and Lovely' hair-care products at an event held at the 'Juliet Supper Club' in New York City, on January 18, 2011.

Bria also nurtures a keen interest in art. She began her career as an artist before venturing into modeling and acting. In 2003, Bria collaborated with the art department of the film 'Daddy Day Care.' The movie starred her father, and she was the artist of many of the children’s drawings shown in the film. She is also one of the co-founders of 'ArtUs Gallery,' where she often exhibits her paintings.

Bria has been in a couple of relationships in the past. She dated popular R&B rapper Marcus Cooper, better known as "Pleasure P." Marcus was later accused of child abuse. Their relationship did not last too long. None of them has ever given any clear reason for the break-up.

Following the break-up, Bria dated basketball player Brandon Jennings. Reportedly, Brandon broke up with his pregnant ex-girlfriend because of Bria.
