Brittany Xavier Biography

Fresh out of college with a three-year-old daughter, Brittany Xavier, who had enrolled into a law school in Southern California, interviewed several working mothers from the law field and decided to be financially stable and try for a job before law school started.

She joined an accounting firm in 2011 and began working full-time in marketing at an insurance brokerage firm the next year.

Stuck in the corporate grind, she yearned for a creative outlet and started the blog, Thrifts and Threads, in December 2013. In the months before that, she and her partner Anthony Xavier were looking into a lot of wedding blogs while planning their wedding, and she was encouraged by him to show off her affordable wardrobe during the weekends. Brittany Xavier began submitting her articles to fashion inspiration websites like Lookbook and Asos Fashion Finder, and opened her Instagram profile to support her blog. Two years later, her blog had grown so much that she decided quit her job and became a full-time fashion blogger.

Her husband, Anthony, also followed suit and became her photographer and videographer. By the end of 2018, she had crossed 1 million subscribers on her Instagram handle, had collaborated with brands like Cartier, Givenchy, Marc Jacobs and YSL, and had branched out to other social media platforms as well. She posted her first YouTube vlog in November 2016 and was influenced by her daughter to join TikTok in November 2019. Her fan base on TikTok has grown exponentially in the following months to reach 2.8 million with 77.6 million likes.

Following the COVID-19 outbreak, Brittany Xavier was inspired by her sister-in-law, a nurse, to raise awareness about the lack of protective gear for healthcare providers and to contribute to the cause monetarily. She decided to take a more active approach by making ear guards for medical masks at-home with 3-D printer and showed off the results on her Instagram and TikTok. Realizing the scarcity for such items amidst a pandemic, she continued to make such products in large quantities with her family to distribute them to medical facilities throughout the country. She has since then become a vocal ambassador for GetUsPPE, a non-profit coalition that focuses on addressing the shortage of Personal Protective Equipment.

Brittany Megan Xavier was born on November 23, 1986, in Glendora, California. She is half-Argentinean and credits her Argentine father, who had started his own business to support his family, for instilling into her strong work ethics. She has French and Irish ancestry from her mother's side. She has a younger sister named Bailey. She attended Glendora High School and has always been a brilliant student. She then went to University of La Verne to pursue her Bachelor's Degree in Political Science, International Relations, and was the first in her family to attend college. She wanted to study law after college and had passed the LSAT, but prioritized taking a job to support her daughter as a single mother.

Brittany Xavier was only a teenager when she broke up with her then-boyfriend and learned 10 days later that she was pregnant with her daughter Jadyn, who was born on January 10, 2007. She has described her relationship with Jadyn's biological father as horrible. Her parents supported her at the time and looked after Jadyn as Britanny completed her college and took a job.

She met her future husband Anthony Xavier by chance in 2010 when she was out for dinner with a friend who knew the friend Anthony was with. She later invited him for a meal to get to know each other and took about six months before introducing him to her daughter. They are married since September 7, 2013, and currently live in Pasadena, California, with their two French Bulldogs Eloise and Mabel.
