Caitlin FitzGerald is an American actress and filmmaker known for her work in TV shows, such as ‘Masters of Sex’ and ‘Sweetbitter,’ and films like ‘The Fitzgerald Family Christmas’. Born and raised in Camden, Maine, she developed an interest in acting at a very early age. She performed in community theatre as well as in school productions. Before beginning her acting career, she studied at the Royal Academy of Dramatic Art. She initially played guest roles in TV shows, such as ‘Law & Order: Special Victims Unit’ and ‘Mercy’. She gained popularity after she started playing an important role in the period drama series ‘Masters of Sex’. It was much appreciated by the critics. She eventually ventured into films as well and achieved recognition with her roles in movies such as ‘The Fitzgerald Family Christmas’, ‘Manhattan Romance,’ and more recently, ‘The Man Who Killed Hitler and then the Bigfoot.’

Career
Caitlin FitzGerald began her career with roles in films like ‘A Jersey Christmas’ in 2008 and ‘Taking Woodstock’ in 2009. In the late 2000s, she also took up guest roles in the TV shows ‘Law and Order: Special Victims Unit’ and ‘Mercy’. She appeared in the movies ‘Love Simple’ and ‘It’s Complicated’ in the ensuing years. ‘It’s Complicated’ was a huge success commercially, earning more than $200 million on a budget of $85 million. She next appeared in the 2011 film ‘Damsels in Distress’, which was directed by Whit Stillman. The film was a commercial failure though reviews were mostly positive. The same year, she also played her first recurring role in the TV series ‘Gossip Girl’.
She gained popularity after her appearance in the period drama series ‘Masters of Sex,’ which started airing in 2013. Other actors in the show were Michael Sheen, Lizzy Caplan and Teddy Sears. The series earned critical acclaim and was nominated for the Golden Globe Award for ‘Best Drama Series’.
Meanwhile, in 2012, she was seen in a supporting role in the film ‘The Fitzgerald Family Christmas’. Directed by Edward Burns, the film was about seven adult siblings of the Fitzgerald family, who prepare for the return of their estranged father for the first time since his walking out of the family 20 years ago. In 2013, she was seen in the comedy film ‘Mutual Friends’ in the lead role. It was directed by Matthew Watts. The film revolved around her character planning a birthday party for her fiancé. The next year, she acted in the comedy drama film ‘Adult Beginners’, which was directed by Ross Katz. The film was a commercial disaster. Her other big screen projects include ‘Manhattan Romance’ (2015), ‘Mercy’ (2016) and ‘All I Wish’ (2017).
In 2016, she played a supporting role in the last season of the TV series ‘Rectify’. Her next important role was in 2018 in the TV series ‘Unreal’. The show has been met with favorable reviews and has also received multiple awards. She also acted in the TV series ‘Sweetbitter’ the same year.

He is also the founder of Ducktrap River Fish Farm Inc. Her mother is Pam Allen, who has authored the book ‘Knitting for Dummies’. She is also the founder of the yarn company ‘Quince & Co’. FitzGerald’s parents divorced before she turned ten.
FitzGerald developed an interest in acting at an early age. She performed in many community theatre and school productions. She studied at Concord Academy in Massachusetts and later graduated from NYU's Tisch School of the Arts. She also studied Shakespeare at the Royal Academy of Dramatic Art in London before she began her acting career.
She has been in relationships with Michael Sheen and Aidan Turner in the past.
