Callum Grant has admitted that his theatrical background has paved the way for his TikTok fame. He had been interested in drama and theatre since a very young age and had been involved with the Edinburgh Festival Fringe, doing a lot of shows including comedic Shakespearean plays. He always loved to play comic characters and considered it “brilliant” to be able to make “other people smile because of something you say”.

He also enjoyed being the center of attention and had been considering being active on platforms like Vine or YouTube years before finally joining TikTok in January 2020.

Like most people, he started TikTok for fun, and was surprised when his first video of “dancing around to a rubbish song” registered over 400 views. The early attention made him “addicted” to posting more content, sometimes even skipping preliminary exams in school. After one of his comic sketches went viral on the platform a couple months later, he began focusing more on skits. His most popular content on TikTok is a series about a math teacher, Mr. Mackenzie, trying to teach basic math to his “bottom set” students. The series has spawned several videos till date, the latest of which was posted just a few days back. Callum, who recently crossed the one million fans milestone on TikTok in early 2022, made a TikTok video tracking “The Callum Grant Journey” through pictures of himself since he was a child. He often jokes about having a crush on Charli D'Amelio, the most famous TikToker, and has acknowledged being inspired by some YouTubers and fellow English TikToker STUGGY.

When asked about the TikTokers he aspired to be like on the Track Back podcast, Callum Grant mentioned that his ultimate goal was to be like one of the big YouTubers and that he was already branching out to other platforms. To that end, he joined YouTube on May 27, 2020 and posted a compilation video of his long and successful series, the “bottom set maths”, that same day. After a couple YouTube Shorts, he posted his first “proper” YouTube video in which he answered fan questions about him. Since then, he has mostly uploaded Shorts on his channel, apart from the occasional challenge video, a live-stream, or a hiking video. On March 10, 2021, he and his brother Joshua Grant interviewed Coach Jason Brown of the hit Netflix show Last Chance U. In another video from June that year, he went head-to-head with Scottish footballer Sam Wardrop on the field.

Callum Grant is a “Verified Artist” on Spotify and has released three singles so far: Sandwich and Emotional Seagulls in 2020 and Hard to Sleep in 2021. Even in his videos on TikTok and YouTube, he is known for occasionally bursting out singing his favorite songs, including his own ones. Callum, whose brother is also a musician, has often collaborated with him on music and other types of content.

Callum Grant was born on November 13, 2003 in Edinburgh, Scotland, United Kingdom. He has an older brother named Joshua Grant who is a music artist. Callum loves to play football, but is better at field hockey, which he played throughout school. He is a huge fan of Scottish football and supports the team Dundee United F.C. He also loves skiing and has uploaded videos of him skiing in Italy. He once broke his sacrum in a skiing accident. In a Q&A video, he mentioned that he wanted to go on a gap year before going to university and that he wanted to work on television or appear in a comedy movie in the future. He has a dog, Forest, named after Forest Gump.
