Cameron Mathison first acted in the 1997 TV movie ‘Any Mother's Son’. He then appeared in the flick ‘54’ in 1998. The same year, he began playing the role of Ryan Lavery on ABC-TV’s ‘All My Children’. Soon after this, he appeared in the independent film ‘Washed Up’. During 2002 and 2003, the actor guest-starred on the shows ‘The Job’, ‘The Drew Carey Show’, ‘CSI: Crime Scene Investigation’, ‘JAG’ and ‘What I Like About You’.
After this, he began hosting ‘I Wanna Be a Soap Star’ on Soapnet. Mathison then served as a host for ‘Instant Beauty Pageant’. In 2009, he began serving as a correspondent and host for ‘Good Morning America’. During 2011 and 2012, he hosted ‘Ultimate Proposal’ on the web. During this time, the actor also acted in the shows ‘Castle’, ‘Desperate Housewives’ and ‘Drop Dead Diva’.
In 2013, he did the Hallmark Channel TV Movies ‘The Christmas Ornament’ and ‘Window Wonderland.’ That year, Mathison also appeared in an episode of ‘Hot in Cleveland’. The following year, he hosted ‘Game of Homes’ as well as performed in the Hallmark Movies & Mysteries TV Movies ‘Along Came a Nanny’ and ‘My Gal Sunday’.
