Cariad Lloyd is a British comedian, actress, writer and podcaster. She has acted in sitcoms such as `Give Out Girls’, and `Murder in Successville’. As a comedian, she made her debut in 2011 with her show titled `Lady Cariad`s Characters’. It earned her a nomination for the Edinburgh Comedy Awards in the category of `Best Newcomer’. She also won the Edtwinge Award for having the `most positively tweeted-about show` during the Edinburgh Festival Fringe. In 2016, she started hosting her own podcast called ‘Griefcast’, a series of conversations she has had with other comedians, about losing a loved one. It won three awards at the British Podcast Awards.

Cariad Lloyd began her career by mostly performing in sketches on BBC Comedy Online, which includes ‘Funtime’, ‘\’The Proposal’, and ‘Dirty Dancing’. She has also performed for the BBC Radio 4 shows like ‘Newsjack’, and ‘The Guns of Adam Riches’. She wrote and performed in her own comedy pilot for BBC3, which was titled `The Cariad Show’. In 2011, for her debut solo show `Lady Cariad`s Character’, she was nominated for the Edinburgh Comedy Awards.
She is also a member of an improvisational comedy group named Austentatious. Their show won the Chortle Award for Best Character, Improv or Sketch Act in 2014.
Throughout her career, she has played guest roles in various TV shows such as `Badults’, `Siblings’, `Toast of London’, `The Delivery Man’, and `Inside No 9’. She played a party girl named Poppy, one of the main characters in the British sitcom `Give Out Girls`. The show aired on the Comedy Central Network on October 2014. The show revolved around several young girls in their twenties who work in the field of promotions.
She also had a recurring role in the British sitcom `Crims’, which revolved around two men sent to a young offenders’ institution, after one of them informs the unaware other during a bank heist. The show aired between January and February 2015. Lloyd played the role of an officer at the institution named Dawn. In 2015, she was seen in the last season of the British TV sitcom `Peep Show’. The show, which had aired between 2003 and 2015, had received a lot of popularity as well as huge appreciation from critics. She was seen in the British sitcom `Murder in Successville’, which aired between 2015 and 2017. She has also appeared in several episodes of a British comedy game show named `QI’.
Cariad Lloyd started hosting a podcast called ‘Griefcast’, in 2016. It is a series of conversations which she has with other comedians mostly, regarding dealing with losing a dear one. It received three awards at the 2018 British Podcast awards, which included `Best Entertainment Podcast’, `Best Interview Podcast’, as well as `Podcast of the Year’.
