Rise to Stardom

Carson Genal, who rose to social media fame along with his brothers Connor and Tucker, has been the chief architect of the Genal brothers’ fame from the very beginning. While the three athletic brothers always loved making videos about sports, it was Carson who motivated his brothers to hop on to various social media platforms back in 2014. His first video on his eponymous YouTube channel, titled Best Pool Dunks and Trick Shots, was uploaded on June 21, 2014 and featured him, his two brothers, their father, and guest John Hawkins. At the time, Carson had a personal Instagram handle, @CarsonGenal3, but also featured on the Instagram profile, @TDG3_ERA.

He was also the one who, on one summer day in May 2019, came home from school and convinced his brothers that they needed to get into the trending app, TikTok. Despite years of presence on various other social media platforms, the Genal brothers quickly gained popularity on TikTok shortly after posting their first football-catching video. Their first viral video, that surpassed one million likes, was a trick-catch video. Carson personally crossed the 1 million followers’ milestone on TikTok in November 2020 and shared pictures from the celebratory party on his Instagram. The same year, he and his brothers formed the Los Angeles-based TikTok collective, Hustle House.

Focus on Solo Career

Carson Genal and his brothers, who share similar personalities, initially combined their strengths to create content together. Even his current Instagram profile, @carsongenal, on which he began posting in mid-2019, he often posted pictures and videos with his brothers. However, as his TikTok fame grew, he made a big announcement through his Instagram profile on March 12, 2020, stating that the three brothers had made an agreement to focus on their individual social media accounts instead of all of them posting on their group account @genalboys.

The same announcement further detailed that Carson will be taking over the group’s Instagram account, while his brother Tucker will be taking over their TikTok profile. As a result, Carson got hold of the group’s already established Instagram fan base and is still the leading Genal siblings in terms of Instagram following, at 125k. Incidentally, he also has the most fans on TikTok amongst his siblings, at 1.4(1) million. In case of YouTube, however, the brothers only have a handful of subscribers on their solo channels, while their group channel, titled “Genal Boys”, boasts of 3.35k (3.34k)2 subscribers, the most among their personal and family channels. The low YouTube subscribers count is probably due to the loss of their original channel, which they addressed in the first video on the new channel, titled “HOW OUR YOUTUBE CHANNEL GOT STOLEN!”, posted in October 2020.

Sports Background

Carson Genal followed in the footsteps of his father and older brothers, all of whom played American football. Like his brother Tucker, who played as a tight end at the Furman University, Carson also played as a tight end while attending Gulf Coast High School in Naples, Florida and later at Florida International University. While he had earned 298 receiving yards during his junior year at school, during his senior year, he raised his record to 447 receiving yards, with 40.6 receiving yards-per-game and an average 11.8 yards-per-catch. Furthermore, he scored 4 touchdowns and ranked in the Top 10 in Collier County for receptions (38) and receiving yards (447). He also helped his varsity team to a 7-4 record and at the program's first district championship in 2016. However, he redshirted his freshman year at FIU in 2017 and appeared in only a couple games for the FIU Panthers during the next season, without registering any statistics.
