Cheryl Scott is an American TV meteorologist and geologist. She is currently affiliated with Chicago’s ABC 7 Eyewitness News. A native of New Jersey, Scott developed an interest in science very early in her life. During her school years, she was not only an exemplary student but also a gifted track-and-field runner. Her athletic prowess garnered several opportunities, including her recruitment by Brown University, from where she received her bachelor’s degree in geological science in 2007. Later, she earned her Meteorology Certification from Mississippi State University. Scott started her career as an intern at the WCAU-NBC 10 in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania in 2006. About a year later, she served as the weekend weathercaster at WSEE-TV in Erie, Pennsylvania. In the ensuing years, she has also worked for WBIR-TV in Knoxville, Tennessee and NBC 5 in Chicago, Illinois, before accepting her current position at ABC 7 in December 2014. Scott is very active in the Chicago social scene and can be seen attending various events with her fiancé, Dante Deiana. Furthermore, she is currently a member of the board of directors of the American Red Cross.

Career
In 2006, Cheryl Scott began her professional life at WCAU-NBC 10, working at the Philadelphia-based TV station as an intern. In 2007, she was hired as the weekend weathercaster at WSEE-TV. During this period, she also worked at a 24-hour Caribbean Weather Channel. After she moved to Knoxville, she began working at WBIR-TV, another NBC affiliate. In April 2011, several powerful tornados hit Knoxville, causing widespread destruction. Her reporting on the catastrophe provided the viewers with valuable information on how the storm was spreading. She also informed them on critical safety measures. After the storm passed, she did volunteer work with the Red Cross.
In September 2011, she joined NBC 5 in Chicago, serving as the morning and weekend meteorologist. In December 2014, she landed her current job as the meteorologist at ABC 7 Eyewitness News.

Cheryl Scott was born on January 29, 1985, in New Jersey. Her mother’s name is Marie Picciano Scott. Cheryl and her two older brothers, Kevin and Brian, were raised in Atco, an unincorporated community in the township of Waterford, located in Camden County, New Jersey. Since she was a child, she has harboured a deep interest in science. She was also a talented athlete in her school years. She grew up watching her brothers loving and playing sports and wanted to emulate them. They were fans of the Philadelphia Eagles and other Philadelphia-based sports teams. She often took a starter jacket that belonged to one of her brothers and wore it to school.
She attended Paul VI High School in Haddonfield, New Jersey and was part of their track and field program. According to Scott, she was a fast runner and her athletic ability amassed her several great opportunities. She also played soccer. Her track-and-field accomplishments drew the attention of recruiters from various universities. She eventually enrolled in the Brown University in Providence, Rhode Island. In 2007, she graduated with a bachelor’s degree in geological science. In 2010, she got her Meteorology Certification from Mississippi State University.
Her work has allowed her the opportunity to live all over US. Prior to moving to Chicago, she has lived in her home state New Jersey; Providence, Rhode Island; Philadelphia, Pennsylvania; Erie, Pennsylvania; and Knoxville, Tennessee.
Not long after she relocated to Chicago, she started participating in recreational soccer matches. During one of these matches, she was injured and had to be taken to a hospital. She was later told that her Achilles tendon has ruptured. That injury has significantly affected her ability to take part in various recreational activities since then. In 2017, she admitted that she was still recovering and the injury bothered her even then.
Scott has been previously linked to former Chicago Blackhawks left-winger Patrick Sharp. However, nothing was confirmed nor denied by either party. In 2015, she began a relationship with entrepreneur Josh Iachelli, who owns Homeslice Pizza, located at Lincoln Park, Chicago. He is also one of the co-owners of The Happy Camper. They broke up sometime in 2016.
She subsequently started dating DJ and Massachusetts native Dante Deiana after meeting him at a charity event. Deiana performs under the moniker Dante The Don and serves as the resident DJ at Barstool Sports, mixshow DJ at Kiss FM, Pitbull’s globalization DJ at SiriusXM, and the sound and music engineer for the Chicago Cubs. He is also involved in the hospitality industry. At present, he works as the partner and entertainment director at Magnolia Cafe + Donuts as well as at FWD Day + Nightclub. Furthermore, he is the senior vice president of marketing and brand management at Tally App. Deiana proposed to Scott in July 2018 while they were spending their holiday in Hawaii. They hiked together to the summit of the dormant Haleakala volcano before Deiana popped the question. According to Scott, she “totally blacked out” but eventually accepted the ring.
