When Kim Kardashian became pregnant with her first child,  she suffered from Preeclampsia (PE), a disorder that forced her to deliver her baby six weeks early. After giving birth to her second child, Saint West, Kardashian had to undergo surgery to remove her placenta after she was diagnosed with Placenta Accreta. The doctors then advised her not to become pregnant again. Since Kim Kardashian and Kanye West wanted to expand their family, they opted for surrogacy. After spending months finding a surrogate, Kim and Kanye finally found the perfect candidate in 2017. In an episode of ‘The Ellen DeGeneres Show,’ which was aired in November 2017, Kim Kardashian confirmed the sex of the baby. In an interview with ‘Entertainment Tonight,’ Kim said that surrogacy was actually more difficult than experiencing pregnancy. She also said that she felt bad for not being able to carry her third baby.

Chicago West was born on January 15, 2018, at the ‘Cedars-Sinai Medical Center’ in Los Angeles, California, USA. Post her birth, her parents shared her birth certificate online, according to which Chicago weighed 7 pounds and 6 ounces at the time of her birth. The birth certificate issued by the ‘County of Los Angeles Department of Public Health,’ also mentioned that Dr. Paul Crane had delivered Kim and Kanye West’s third child. Just moments after Chicago’s birth, Kim took to her website to announce the arrival of her third child. In her note, she thanked the nurses, doctors, and the surrogate for delivering a ‘beautiful and healthy baby.’ On January 19, 2018, Kim announced her name through her app and website. According to sources, the baby was named after her father’s hometown.

Chicago West has been riding the tide of popularity and fame ever since her birth. She takes after her mother when it comes to looks. Matter of fact, many fans often call her the exact twin of Kim Kardashian.

In 2021, Kayne and Kim decide to end their 8-year marriage. In February of that year, Kim filed for divorce and in April, the couple appeared before the court. They cited irreconcilable differences as the reason for separation and opted for joint custody of their children. While Kim was declared legally single in March 2022, the divorce was finalized in November 2022.
