Chip Gaines Biography

After his graduation, Chip Gaines decided to be an entrepreneur and eventually became the founder of several small yet successful businesses, such as ‘Green and Gold Wash and Fold’—a local Waco laundry service catering to college students—a fireworks stand and multiple landscaping companies. His wife, Joanna, started a home accessory store named ‘Magnolia Homes’. The initiative expanded and they started remodeling and fixing up homes. Soon, ‘Magnolia’ ventured into real estate in full swing and revamped many houses across the United States together, especially in the Waco region of Texas. Chip Gaines manages the business part while Joanna looks after the design aspect. The couple eventually became quite popular in the realty sector and later became a part of the television series ‘Upper Fixer’. The first episode of this television series was aired on the channel ‘HGTV’ in 2013 and received both critical and commercial acclaim. Chip Gaines has earned the reputation of consistently building great homes with great aesthetic sense.

Chip Gaines was born on 14 November, 1974, in Albuquerque, New Mexico. Not much is known about his family, except that he has a sister named Shannon Gaines. He was raised in Colleyville and pursued his primary education at the ‘Grapevine High School’. During his school days, Chip Gaines loved playing Basketball, until he got busy with academics and work. For further studies, he moved to the reputed ‘Hankamer School Of Business’, affiliated with ‘Baylor University’ and graduated with a degree in Marketing. He married Joanna, an HGTV personality in 2003. Interestingly, both Chip Gaines and Joanna studied at the ‘Baylor University’, but didn’t know each other back then. The couple has four children; Drake, Ella, Duke and Emmie Kay.
