Beyond Fame
Chris Geere is known for playing wild and crazy characters, which include one of his most famous roles, the hilariously stupid Jimmy Shive-Overly in 'You're the Worst', about whom he said: "I loved him at some bits, I felt sorry for him at other bits, and I hated him lot of the time." During an interview with BBC about his character Matt Wilding on 'Waterloo Road' in 2007, Chris Geere mentioned that while he also thinks a lot like Matt, he is very open about himself in contrast to Matt who keeps to himself. He also told BBC that his school reports mentioned that he had a tendency to be easily distracted. To cure his "thinking" issue, he meditates twice each day, 10 minutes in the morning and 20 minutes in the night, using a citrine orb given to him by his manager. Geere who is finally happy to appear in the Pokémon movie that his son can enjoy, is also eager to play Doctor Who, or a big villain who is seemingly friendly and harmless but turns out to be "an absolute psycho".
Family & Personal Life
Christopher William Geere was born on March 18, 1981, in Cambridge, Cambridgeshire, England. Because his father had a job reviving failing newspapers, he lived in various places across the UK while growing up, and also spent short stints in Hong Kong and Phoenix, Arizona. He was primarily raised in the Winchester area of Hampshire, where his family still lives, and later settled in Putney, a district in southwest London.
He was a good student, but did not excel in any particular subject. While he was interested in art, he was not sure about future goals until his drama teacher at school, Angela Mackie, convinced him to play the lead role in his school's production of 'A Midsummer Night's Dream'. At about 14, he appeared in a musical version of the 1980 coming-of-age romantic comedy film 'Gregory's Girl'. He was later selected into the Guildford School of Acting ahead of nearly three thousand other applicants. He moved to the United States in 2017.
Relationships
Chris Geere married jazz singer, songwriter and pianist Jennifer Sawdon in 2010. They have a son named Freddie, who was born in 2012. Following the birth of their son, he and his wife became involved in an infant-feeding program, "breastfeeding buddies", at Wythenshawe Hospital that attempted to encourage women to breastfeed their babies. He currently lives with his wife and son in Manchester.
