Christopher Velez is an American-Ecuadorian singer, currently a member of the music group ‘CNCO.’ He won the first season of the Spanish-language singing competition ‘La Banda’ in 2015. He, along with other members of the ‘CNCO’ namely, Richard Camacho, Joel Pimentel, Erick Brian Colon, and Zabdiel de Jesus won a five-year record deal with ‘Sony Music Latin.’ The group released their debut album ‘Primera Cita’ in 2016. Their first song ‘Reggaetón Lento (Bailemos)’ received more than a billion views on ‘YouTube.’ Their other singles, such as ‘Tan Fácil’ and ‘Quisiera’ fared well on the music charts across the country. Velez, along with his group members, toured with famous singer Ricky Martin, who was also the judge as well as co-creator of the show. Christopher used to create and post covers on his self titled ‘YouTube’ channel and was planning to study music when he got selected for ‘La Band’ and ended up winning the show. During his time on the show, he sang songs, such as ‘Kilometros de Sin Bandera,’ ‘Creo en ti de Reik,’ and ‘Hoy tengo ganas de tide Alejandro Fernández.’
