Condola Phylea Rashad (Rashād) was born on December 11, 1986, in New York. She is of African-American descent. Her father, Ahmad Rashad, is a sportscaster, and a former professional football player. Her mother, Phylicia Rashad, is an actress, singer, and stage director.
Rashad was born three days prior to her parents’ first wedding anniversary. She has seven older half-siblings. In 2008, Rashad graduated from the ‘California Institute of the Arts.’

Career
In 2009, Condola Rashad made her debut on stage. She performed as ‘Sophie,’ in the ‘Off-Broadway’ play, ’Ruined.’ It was performed at the ‘Manhattan Theatre Club.’ Rashad gave a brilliant performance. She was awarded the ‘Theatre World Award for the Best Debut Performance.’ Rashad was nominated for the ‘Drama Desk Award’ too.
In 2009, Rashad made her debut on TV, with an episode of the series, ‘The Good Wife.’ She performed as ‘Mary Bennett.’ In 2010, she performed as ‘Khadra,’ in an episode of the drama series, ‘Law & Order: Criminal Intent.’ In the same year, Rashad appeared in a small role as ‘Meghan,’ in the romantic comedy movie, ‘Sex and the City 2.’
In 2011, Condola Rashad performed as ‘Cheryl,’ in the play, ‘Stick Fly.’ It was a ‘Broadway’ production, staged at the ‘Cort Theatre.’ For her performance in the play, Rashad was nominated for the ‘Tony Award for Best Featured Actress in a Play.’ In the same year, Rashad was seen as ‘Bryce Johnson,’ in the Tv film ‘Georgetown.’
In 2012, Rashad performed in three episodes of the musical drama series, ‘Smash.’ It was aired on the ‘NBC’ network. The series was about a group of people creating new ‘Broadway’ musicals. In this, Rashad appeared as ‘Cyn.’ In the same year, Rashad performed as ‘Eva Halden,’ in two episodes of the comedy series, ‘Submissions Only.’
In 2012, Condola Rashad performed a major role in the romantic comedy movie, ’30 Beats.’ The movie told the story of lives of 10 different characters, in a way that followed from one character to the next. In this, Rashad performed as ‘Julie,’ who was the starting character of the movie. In the same year, Rashad performed as ‘Shelby Eatenton-Latcherie,’ in the comedy drama movie, ‘Steel Magnolias.’ It was a TV movie, and was a remake of the movie of the same name released in 1989. In the movie, Rashad performed alongside her mother, Phylicia Rashad.
In 2013, Rashad performed as ‘Thelma,’ in the ‘Broadway’ play, ‘The Trip to Bountiful.’ It was staged at the ‘Stephen Sondheim Theatre.’ It was the story of an elderly woman who traveled alone to find her friends in her home town. ‘Thelma’ was a young woman whom she befriended on the way. For her performance in the play, Rashad was nominated for the ‘Tony Award for Best Featured Actress in a Play.’ This was her second nomination.
In 2013, Rashad performed as ‘Juliet Capulet,’ in the Shakespeare tragedy play, ‘Romeo and Juliet.’ It was a ‘Broadway’ play staged at the ‘Richard Rodgers Theatre.’ In 2015, she performed as ‘Diana, in two episodes of the series, ‘Master of None.’ It was streamed on ‘Netflix.’
In 2016, Rashad performed as ‘Bree,’ in the thriller movie, ‘Money Monster.’ It was directed by Jodie Foster, and had George Clooney in the lead role. It told the story of ‘Lee Gates,’ who was a TV personality, and financial advisor. In the same year, Rashad performed as ‘Sharon,’ in the mystery thriller movie, ‘Complete Unknown.’
In 2016, Rashad bagged a prominent role in the drama series, ‘Billions.’ It was aired on the ‘Showtime’ network. It tells the story of a United States Attorney, and his legal battles. In the series, Rashad portrays ‘Kate Sacker,’ who is an Assistant United States Attorney. The series continues to be on air till date.
In 2017, Condola Rashad performed as the protagonist, in the movie, ‘Bikini Moon.’ It told the story of a charismatic, but mentally unstable vet. Rashad performed as ‘Bikini.’ In the same year, she performed as ‘Emmy,’ in the Broadway ‘A Doll’s House, Part 2.’ It was staged at the ‘John Golden Theatre.’ For her performance in the play, Rashad was nominated for the ‘Tony Award for Best Featured Actress in a Play.’
In 2018, Rashad performed a major role in the drama movie, ‘Come Sunday.’ It was released by ‘Netflix.’ In the movie, Rashad portrayed ‘Gina Pearson,’ who was the wife of the protagonist. In the same year, she performed as ‘Joan of Arc,’ in the Broadway ‘Saint Joan.’ For her performance, Rashad was nominated for the ‘Tony Award for Best Actress in a Play.’
