Much news has been doing the rounds recently about the romantic life of Golden Globe Awards winning American actress Kate Hudson. All the speculations came to an end when she showed up at the red carpet with musician Danny Fujikawa and didn’t shy away to show her affection towards her new beau including sharing a kiss in front of shutterbugs during premiere of her mother Goldie Hawn’s new flick ‘Snatched’. Fujikawa is a former member of the folk rock band ‘Chief’ that he co-founded in Santa Monica, California, with others including his brother, Michael. The band that mostly garnered positive reviews for its productions, released singles like ‘Night And Day’, ‘Breaking Walls’ and ‘Mighty Proud’; EP ‘The Castle Is Gone’; and album ‘Modern Rituals’. He also co-founded ‘Lightwave Records’ along with Chris Acosta, the front man of musical group ‘The Delta Mirror’. The group’s albums released through the label include ‘Machines That Listen’ and ‘Better Unsung’. Fujikawa has garnered much media attention as the new boyfriend of Kate Hudson who is known to have a preference for musicians considering her past relationships.

Fujikawa is a musician, known as one of the founders of the four-member folk rock band ‘Chief’. The other members of the band include his brother Michael Fujikawa, and Mike Moonves and Evan Koga whom he met while attending New York University. He remained the guitarist of the band and also contributed in backup vocals.
The first EP of ‘Chief’ was released under their own record label in the founding year of the band in 2008 titled ‘The Castle is Gone’. The following year they relocated and stationed themselves in Los Angeles. The band that generally received good reviews attracted comparison with other bands like ‘Local Natives’ and ‘Coldplay’.
All other productions of the band were released through ‘Domino Records’ including its only album ‘Modern Rituals’ (2010) and singles like ‘Mighty Proud’ (2009), ‘Night And Day’ (2010) and ‘Breaking Walls’ (2010). The members of the band parted way "due to creative and personal differences" in 2011 marking their break-up with the farewell show held on June 14 that year at ‘The Troubadour’ in Los Angeles. They however reunited later, which was announced by their lead vocalist Evan Koga in July 2012 through Twitter.
Fujikawa co-founded ‘Lightwave Records’ along with Chris Acosta, front man of the musical group ‘The Delta Mirror’, in 2013. The Facebook page of the company mentions its launch “as a way to release their music on their own terms”. The label has already released three full-length albums and recorded a couple of music videos. The albums include Fujikawa’s ‘Cellophane Castle’ (2013) and The Delta Mirror’s ‘Better Unsung’ (2013). It also released a version of ‘Beloved Enemies’ by Ave Grave which was originally released by ‘The Shimmies’ on July 27, 2010. Although till present he has not forayed into mainstream acting, he lent his voice as someone on the other side of a phone call in the March 18, 2017 released comedy drama film ‘Scumbag’.
Off late, his romantic association with actress Kate Hudson has earned him much media attention. Speculations were rife after the duo was spotted many a times all over Los Angeles. Kate was seen kissing him on March 19, 2017 outside a juice bar. The love birds ended all rumours and speculations when Kate officially confirmed her relationship with him and the two walked the red carpet together during premiere of Kate’s mother Goldie Hawn’s new flick ‘Snatched’ on May 10, 2017, where the new couple shared an affectionate smooch in front of the cameras.
