Davie504 is the online alias of Italian musician and YouTuber Davide Biale who is the most subscribed Italian YouTuber with over 12 million subscribers on his channel on which he uploads videos of himself playing bass guitar, primarily with a slapping technique. He makes unconventional videos and has used M&M's to cover songs by Eminem, corn cobs to play a Korn medley and actual chili peppers for a Red Hot Chili Peppers medley. He also likes to make challenge videos and has videos of him playing bass on guitars with 15, 24, 36 and 69 strings, as well as one with no strings. He has a meme reviewing series called SDAIAY (Some Days Ago I Asked You) on which he reviews memes made by fans on his own subreddit page, r/Davie504. Even though he often makes sarcastic videos about slap bass, it is actually his favorite technique to play bass, and he considers it to be the most suitable for making YouTube videos because it is easy to hear on any kind of speaker. The number in his username refers to his birth date 5th April. He calls his fans the "slappers".

Davie504, who started playing bass in November 2009, mentioned that he previously didn’t even know what a bass guitar was. He loved playing the video game Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas and particularly enjoyed listening to the song Strutter by Kiss from its soundtrack. He had found a live version of it on YouTube in which the band’s bassist, Gene Simmons, had a powerful solo performance that immediately made him interested in the instrument. Still primarily a gamer with an interest in music and instruments, he bought the game Guitar Hero, but he had to play random songs that he didn’t like because there was not any Kiss song in the version of the game that he played.
He was eventually able to convince his parents to buy him a bass guitar and had even formed a band to play live shows. He got his first camera on his 17th birthday and started his YouTube channel, Davie504, on May 19, 2011 with the aim of making bass more popular. He uploaded his first video, Funk Bass Groove, on June 3, 2011, and continued to post short videos regularly.
While his channel was growing gradually, it slowed down after he started attending a university in Genova, causing him to lose motivation. However, he regained motivation after he won a shout-out competition by popular YouTuber PewDiePie, following which he dropped out of university to focus on YouTube fulltime. On July 16, 2017, he uploaded the video 15 STRINGS BASS SOLO, which immediately went viral and eventually helped him cross 1 million subscriber milestone in October that year. He followed it up with 24 STRINGS BASS SOLO’ in November and it went on to become one of his most popular videos with 35 million views.
Davie504 was born as Davide Biale on April 5, 1994 in the beach town of Albisola Superiore in Savona, Italy. He had speech impediment as a child and had to go through therapy in elementary school. He mentioned that bass was in his DNA by stating that his voice was always low, bassy and monotonous, for which he was mocked by other kids. He was okay at studies in elementary and middle school, but “suddenly” started getting very good grades in high school, which coincided with his interest in bass music
He has been an “epic gamer” ever since his father brought him a PS1 when he was a child and was fond of playing games like ‘Hercules’ and ‘Crash Bandicoot’. He has had diverse interests since childhood, including performing magic, practicing karate, and playing volleyball. He started playing football after being inspired by the Italian football team’s win at the 2006 World Cup, and for a while, was determined to become “the best goalkeeper, ever”. Unfortunately, the pressure of professional matches became too much for him and he eventually left the sport after being mocked by some new players in the team when he made some mistakes. He later studied music production at a college in London.
In April 2014, Davie504 received a message from one of his subscribers, an indigenous Taiwanese girl, who also played bass and had a channel called ‘Drungayu’ (now known as ‘yuuu’). They soon started to chat and quickly became an online couple. In 2016, he decided to fly to Taiwan to meet her for the first time. He originally wanted the trip to last two weeks, but decided to stay back for three months until his term expired, following which they both moved to his home-country Italy. They moved back to Taiwan in 2020 and currently reside in Taichung City.
