Diego Tinoco Biography

He commenced his acting career essaying the character of Marco in the 2015 short drama film, ‘Drizzle of Hope.’ The following year he made his debut in television featuring in the character of Mateo, part of the lacrosse team, in a single episode of the sixth season of the popular television series, ‘Teen Wolf.’ What started as a casual activity for Diego soon took shape of a full-fledged profession that saw him taking up more notable roles. He earned the starring role of Diego in the short action crime film, ‘Welcome To Valhalla.’ The short film released on September 5, 2017.

Moving on, he landed up playing the main role of Cesar Diaz in the Netflix coming-of-age television series, ‘On My Block.’ His character is that of an intelligent teenager who is compelled to enter into gang life after his brother comes out of prison, and such turn of events develop a strain on his blossoming relationship with Monse Finnie, played by Sierra Capri. Considered the most memorable role of his career so far, Diego co-stars in the series with Sierra Capri, Ronni Hawk, Jessica Marie Garcia, Brett Gray and Jason Genao. The 2018 series ran for 10 episodes in its first season and received critical acclaim for its story-lines, diverse cast, and performances, and it also won the ‘Choice Breakout TV Show’ award at the 2018 ‘Teen Choice Awards.’ Diego was successful in winning the heart of his fans through his portrayal of Cesar Diaz and garnered widespread recognition and popularity. Diego Tinoco was born on November 25, 1997, in Anaheim, Southern California, US. He is of Latino ethnicity - Mexican from his father’s side and Colombian from his mother’s side. Not much is known about his family background, early life and education. He has an elder brother. He once mentioned that he has fond memories of the time he was in his 8th grade in school and considers that period as the best time of his life. During his growing up years, Diego was diagnosed with a disease called Vitiligo that causes loss of skin colour in blotches. This led him to wear long sleeve shirts. Kids of his age would often taunt him for such condition. This, however, could not deter the high spirited boy who found friends among older kids who did not judge him for his condition. He would enjoy skateboarding with them. As he grew up the condition also went away.

Although Diego has not divulged much on his present or previous romantic associations or dating status, some sources mention that he parted ways with his girlfriend when he relocated to Los Angeles to pursue acting. He shares a good bond with his ‘On My Block’ co-stars especially with his on-screen lover and best friend Sierra Capri who has become his close friend in real life as well.
