Career
Domenick Lombardozzi began his acting career with a small role in the 1993 crime drama film ‘A Bronx Tale’, which was directed by Robert De Niro. The film was an average success commercially, and was also praised by the critics. He next had a supporting role in the 1997 comedy film ‘Kiss Me, Guido’. He also played guest roles in a few TV shows such as ‘Law & Order’, ‘Oz’, and ‘NYPD Blue’.
He continued to appear in several films over the next few years, which included ‘Just One Time’, (1999), ‘For Love of the Game’ (1999), ‘Love in the Time of Money’ (2002), ‘Phone Booth’, (2002), and ‘Find Me Guilty’ (2006). He earned popularity for his role of Thomas Hauk in the crime drama series ‘The Wire’. The series which aired between 2002 and 2008, earned huge popularity and critical appreciation.
His next important work was in the American drama series ‘Breakout Kings’, where he had a main role. The series received generally positive reviews, and was aired internationally in several countries. However, it was cancelled after two seasons. Lombardozzi appeared in both the seasons in 2011 and 2012. In 2013 and 2014, he had a recurring role in the period drama series ‘Boardwalk Empire’. He played a mobster named Ralph Capone, in the last two seasons. His next significant role was seen in the police procedural drama series ‘Rosewood’. The series aired for two seasons, between 2015 and 2017. Domenick Lombardozzi played Captain Ira Hornstock, one of the main characters. In 2018, he had the recurring role of Sebastian Nuzo, in the action drama series ‘Magnum P.I. ‘. He also appeared in some episodes of the crime drama shows ‘Ray Donovan’ and ‘Power’, in 2018 and 2019.
He continued to appear in several films throughout his career, though he was seen in mostly supporting or minor roles. Some of the films in which he starred include ‘Public Enemies’ (2009), ‘Blood Ties’ (2013), ‘The Family’ (2013), ‘The Gambler’ (2014) and ‘Bridge of Spies’ (2015).
In 2019, he also had a supporting role in the Martin Scorsese directed epic crime film ‘The Irishman’. The film revolved around Frank Sheeran, played by Robert De Niro, a truck driver, who soon becomes an assassin after he gets involved with a mobster named Russell Bufalino and his crime family. The film was nominated for ten Oscars, including Best Picture. It won several other awards and nominations as well.
