Domo Wilson created her personal YouTube channel in March, 2010 to post comedic videos, songs and vlogs. However, her initial rise to fame was on the short-video sharing platform Vine during 2014. Her energetic acting and hilarious comic timing in her Vines made her popular instantaneously. A talented singer and songwriter, she later gained popularity through her songs. She released a number of singles like "For You," "Come Through," "It's Cool," and "Real." She is also a talented instrumentalist who continuously keeps polishing her skills. After she got into a relationship with Crissy Danielle, they created joint accounts on various social media platforms. They have a couple of YouTube channels where they post daily vlogs, pranks, challenges, etc. Domo has over 800k subscribers on her personal YouTube channel, while her two joint YouTube channels with Crissy have 1.3 million and 740k subscribers.

Domo Wilson is primarily known for her comedic videos. While in some of her videos she rants about the topic she is covering, in others, she demonstrates the whole scenario. In the videos where she demonstrates the situation, she generally acts out all the characters she is depicting, e.g. a mother and a teenage girl. Her portrayal of the characters, often comedic, makes up much of the charm of her videos.

According to Domo, her vlogs contain an honest account of her "confusing" journey through life. She records through her vlogs the situations a young woman faces in her day-to-day life; from maintaining friends to avoiding conflicts with parents and loved ones, all find a place in her videos. She came out as gay in a video that she posted on her YouTube channel in July 2014. In the video, she mentioned that even at a very early age, she was interested in girls and used to fantasize about female celebrities. At the age of 14, she went to school dressed as a "stud", and attracted a lot of attention from the other students, which she enjoyed a lot. At first, she was scared about these "abnormal" feelings, but eventually came out to her mother first, in 2010 at the age of 16. While for some people exposing one's private life on the internet might seem unnecessary, it is a fact that there are a lot of teenagers out there who are going through the same situation Domo has gone through in the past. The comments on her videos show that many of her followers look at her vlogs as a form of emotional support.

In mid 2015, Domo Wilson announced that she is contemplating having a child through a sperm donor. She promised to keep her fans updated regarding her pregnancy. However, she posted only a few updates thereafter, and later she posted a video revealing the shocking fact that she had a miscarriage. While most of her fans supported her during the tough times, some people found out incoherent details in the way she presented things. Some even went as far as blaming her for faking pregnancy and the miscarriage. However, in mid-2016, Domo and Crissy announced on their joint YouTube channel that they were once again expecting a baby. This time they have documented the process of Domo's pregnancy through their vlogs which can be found on their channels.

Domo Wilson was born on June 24, 1994, in Chicago, Illinois. Her family later moved to Valparaiso, Indiana. Her birth name is Dominique. She has four brothers and one sister, including her little brother Michael, whom her mother gave birth to in September 2016. She is currently in a relationship with fellow YouTube star Crissy Danielle. They got engaged in September 2016. They recently announced that they are expecting a baby boy that Domo conceived through Intrauterine Insemination (IUI). Crissy has gone through the legal process of adopting the baby so that she can have legal rights as a guardian.

She revealed her sexuality to her mother through a letter which she left for her on her way to school.
