Drue Chrisman was interested in sports ever since his childhood and decided to pursue a career in American football after growing up. He started focused on punting during his sophomore year and earned many accolades for it, including the Ray Guy Award semifinalist. He played for La Salle High School’s American football team in hope of earning a sports scholarship. Upon his graduation in 2016, he received offers from various universities, including the Ohio State, Brigham Young, Florida State, the University of California and the Kentucky University. After consulting with his mentors and parents, Drue decided to accept the scholarship offer from the ‘Ohio State University’. In an interview, he revealed that he felt incredibly lucky to have become an Ohio State scholar athlete, as punters are usually ignored.

He flagged off his professional journey in 2017 as a punter for the ‘Ohio State Buckeyes’, and he continues to play for the team even today. During the 2017 season, he scored an impressive 14 goals, 51 punts, and averaged at 44.2. In 2018, he continued the same trend and managed to score 14 goals. He improved his punts, which totaled to 61 and clocked in an impressive average of 43.2 at the end of the season. His presence proved vital for his team in their match against Michigan State in 2018, where managed to place three punts and helped his team gain the upper hand, subsequently winning the game.

Apart from his excellent performance on field, Drue is also known for his impressive antics off the court. His bottle flipping abilities are widely admired by people. A video of him flipping over 63 bottles within a minute went viral, boosting his social media presence. The clip also found airtime on an Australian TV network. Thanks to his sporting abilities and bottle-flipping talent, he has found some popularity on social media as well. He is currently most active on Instagram where he has over 23,000 followers. His recent on-field proposal to his girlfriend during halftime was featured on almost all media channels, further expanding his fan base. In the future, Drue hopes to excel as a punter and continue to win games for his team.
