Dusan Tadic is a Serbian footballer, currently playing as an attacking midfielder for the Dutch football club Ajax and the national team of Serbia. Keen in pursuing football from a young age, he began training with local clubs in Serbia as a little boy. He started his professional career at the age of 18 and played for clubs like AIK Backa Topola, Vojvodina, Groningen, Southampton and Twente prior to his contract with Ajax. During his career, he has won several individual and club honors, including the title of Serbian Player of the Year (2016 and 2019). He has represented his country at the FIFA World Cup in 2018. Dusan Tadic has over 60 caps for Serbia over the course of his career. On the personal front, he is happily married and has children.

Childhood & Early Life
DusanTadic was born on 20th November 1988, to Petar Tadic and wife Marija Tadic in Serbia. Despite being born in Serbia, he has Hungarian roots.
His parents earned their livelihood as farmers; however, Dusan Tadic did not show keen interest in pursuing the same. He considered football as an escape from the harsh realities of his young life and began playing the sport with his brothers and friends.
As a child he was inclined towards the football club Arsenal and considered French professional coach and former player Thierry Henry as his idol. He began playing the sport with his hometown club AIK Backa Topola and became their best player across all age groups.

Career
Dusan Tadic signed his first contract with one of Serbia’s most popular football clubs Vojvodina. He played his first match in the 2006-07 Meridian Super Liga, at the age of 18. He played for almost four seasons for the club and got the opportunity to play against top teams like Atletico Madrid.
In the 2009-10 UEFA Europa League qualifying phase, he scored a goal against Austria Wien. By the end of that season, he saw himself playing for FC Groningen. In the following season (2010-11), he got a European award for the third highest assists in Europe in that particular season. He played for the club between 2010 and 2012.
In 2012, Dusan Tadic was transferred to Dutch professional club FC Twente. In his debut season, he finished as the second highest goal scorer with 16 goals, and the following season, he scored 16 goals to be the top scorer of the team.
In 2014, he signed a four-year contract with England-based football club Southampton. He made a competitive debut against Liverpool in August that year. His first goal for the club was a winning goal against Arsenal in October. The number of assists by Dusan Tadic equaled the Premier League record of most number of goal assists in a single match.
In 2018, Dusan Tadic signed a contract with Dutch professional club Ajax, which is based in Amsterdam. His presence was considered one of the primary reasons for the team’s improved performance at the Champions League in the 2018-19 season.
In 2019, he was nominated for the 2019 Ballon d’Or – a ceremony recognising the best footballer in the world.
Dusan Tadic was a regular player for Serbia’s U-19 and U-21 teams. He has played for the national team in the 2007 UEFA European Under-19 Championship and the 2009 UEFA European Under-21 Championship. He also represented Serbia at the 2008 Summer Olympics.
In 2018, he was part of Serbia’s 23-man squad to play in the 2018 FIFA World Cup tournament.
In early 2020, there were talks that he had received offers from FC Barcelona; however, he could not proceed with it due to his seven-year contract with Ajax.
