Dylan Michael Douglas Biography

Dylan was inclined toward acting since his childhood. To show their support, Michael and Catherine regularly took Dylan to musicals and stage plays to make him understand the nuances of the art first. Every year in the summers, Dylan and his sister used to attend acting workshops. Later, he began participating in his school plays to apply his learnings. With time, he polished his skills and became more proficient in the art.

Dylan made his acting debut in 2009 with the television series 'Formula 1: BBC Sport.' He had a brief role in the series but still managed to get himself noticed. He loves this sport and this was one of the reasons why he accepted the role. He has been spotted a couple of times attending 'Formula One' events along with his father and sister. His next acting project brought something new for him. He worked as a voice artist for the first time. In 2011, Dylan voiced the character 'Russell' for the animated television series, 'Phineas and Ferb.'

Despite being the son of famous parents, Dylan has tried to keep himself away from the limelight. He is mostly captured by the media when he is at some event with his family.

Dylan's mother, Catherine, is quite active on the social media. She regularly posts about her son’s achievements. She had once posted some rare photographs of Dylan and his sister on her 'Instagram' feed. On her son's 17th birthday, she posted a video montage which covered some of the adorable moments from Dylan’s childhood. Dylan also has an 'Instagram' account where he posts moments from his family vacations. He posted a photograph on the 101st birthday of his grandfather, the legendary actor, Kirk Douglas.

Dylan is the first born to actor-producer Michael Douglas and the 'Academy' award-winning Welsh actress Catherine-Zeta–Jones. He was born on August 8, 2000, in Los Angeles, California, USA. His grandfather, Kirk Douglas, is one of the few surviving stars from Hollywood’s 'Golden Age.' Dylan’s grandmother, Diana Love Webster too was an actress. Dylan has a younger sister named Carys Zeta. They have an elder half-brother named Cameron Morrell Douglas from their father and his ex, Brenda Vaccaro.

Dylan was born with some 'special needs.' When he was ten years old, Michael confirmed this about his son. Not only Dylan, but his sister too was born with the same kind of 'special needs.' However, neither Michael nor Catherine revealed anything about the 'special needs'. They were then busy with their respective 'Hollywood' projects. As soon as they received the news, they put everything backseat and decided to move back to New York to provide Dylan and Carys the required treatment. The kids were recommended a special school in New York. Years later, Michael finally opened about the nature of the 'special need.' He stated that his son suffered from 'Dyslexia.' It seems that Dylan has inherited this disorder, too, along with the acting skills. Both, his father and uncle had 'Dyslexia' at some point in their life.

Dylan has completed his schooling from 'The Windward School,' an independent school exclusively for 'Dyslexic' and language-based learning disabled students. It was indeed a proud moment for Dylan’s parents when he gave a motivational speech at a fundraising event organized by the school. Dylan is currently preparing for his higher studies and simultaneously auditioning for acting projects.
