Eliza Limehouse Biography

Eliza Devereaux Limehouse was born on December 26, 1996, into the Limehouse family, one of the oldest families in Charleston, South Carolina. Her father, Harry B. “Chip” Limehouse III, along with her uncles and grandfather were all local politicians. Chip Limehouse was a member of the House of Representatives from 1995 to 2017.

She grew up riding horses on the family plantation, Airy Hall, and aced as a polo player. Eliza’s family owns hotels, real estate offices, parking companies, and a produce company. Eliza’s entrepreneurial journey started while she was still in high school - her local jewellery line, ‘Snaffle Bit Bracelet Company.’

She majored in parks, recreation and tourism at ‘Clemson University.’ After graduating a year earlier, Eliza returned to Charleston and got involved with the family business. She also founded the ‘Plantation Candle Company’ and started her own fine jewellery online store at ‘elizalimehouse.com.’ It came as no surprise when she was chosen as a main character for the ‘Bravo TV’ reality show ‘Southern Charm,’ given how intertwined her life has been with the history and social life of Charleston. She was also acquainted with most of the cast on the show. Eliza made a guest appearance in Season 4, when she hosted a pool party for a few members of the main cast from the show. The sixth season premiered on May 15, 2019, with Eliza making her first appearance at a dinner party. Eliza raked up quite a controversy on her debut episode for her candid remarks about Thomas Ravenel, who was in a relationship with another cast member, Kathryn Dennis. Though she was shown apologising to Kathryn later, but according to Eliza, ‘she felt unwelcomed from the moment she arrived.’ She felt that she was unwittingly portrayed on the show and subjected to covert bullying as the youngest and the newest member of the cast. However, she did not take the unpleasant exchanges quietly. Eliza’s family connections with Thomas Ravenel and her soft approach to Ashley Jacobs (Thoma’s alleged girlfriend) made her the centre of all contentions in the sixth season.
