Ella Rose Mann started to draw attention of fans of her parents long before she was even born. On November 2, 2019, the newly-engaged couple revealed through the video We're Having A Baby! on their joint channel Dhar and Laura that they were expecting their first child together. Most of their subsequent videos focused on the baby in some way, such as Baby Food Challenge (Laura Gets Sick), Our First Time Baby Shopping, Dhar’s First Time Changing A Diaper *HILARIOUS, Best Baby Mama Dance Ever! (9 months pregnant) and several pregnancy updates. They also made an Emotional Labor & Delivery Vlog on the day of her birth, even though it was not uploaded until two weeks later on May 16, 2020. By that time, the couple had already set up an Instagram profile for their daughter with the handle @ella.rose and had shared her first picture on May 6th.

Her parents continued to post more pictures of Ella on Instagram with captions from her perspective to update fans about her life. They even dressed her up as Audrey Hepburn for Halloween that year. They also featured her in their TikTok videos. They formally introduced Ella to their YouTube subscribers on July 24, 2020 with the video Meet Ella Rose + Life Update. While the couple didn’t make any new post on her Instagram since she was ten months old, she has regularly featured in pictures and videos on her parents’ social media profiles on various platforms.

Ella Rose Mann was born on May 1, 2020 in California, United States to Dharminder “Dhar” Mann and Laura Gurrola. Her father is an entrepreneur, film producer and YouTuber who is known for making motivational short films with moral lessons, usually targeted towards a young audience. Her mother is a social media star who also runs the cosmetics company LiveGlam with her husband. The couple was engaged months before announcing their pregnancy with Ella. They revealed in a recent YouTube video that they “got married” on their first meeting when Laura modeled for a makeup artist for one of Dhar’s videos, clarifying that because she was wearing the same wedding gown from the video when they went out to celebrate, people mistook them for a newly-wedded couple. Ella has a younger sister named Myla Sky, who was born on June 20, 2021. Her paternal grandparents had emigrated from India to the US and run a cab business in Oakland, California.

Unfortunately, Ella Rose Mann’s birth did not go as smoothly as her parents had hoped. In January 2020, her mother mentioned on Instagram getting a call from the doctor about an abnormal ultrasound report and later uploaded an emotional video on YouTube detailing that she had marginal insertion of umbilical cord. She was so stressed about it that Dhar took her for a trip to Vegas to keep her distracted. She vlogged about her doctor’s appointment when the latter explained to her that her case was luckily not velamentous insertion, which would be a worse scenario, and also asserted to her that there was nothing she could have done differently, which eased her mind.

The couple, who shared Ella’s delivery in a vlog, addressed cutting the video short at the end in another vlog titled The Shocking Truth About Our Labor & Delivery in which Laura revealed how long and painful the experience was. While it took about 60 hours altogether, even the active labor was about three hours long. At one point Ella was stuck halfway out but Laura was too exhausted to push further, creating a sense of urgency among doctors as at that point C-section was out of question. Dhar, who was with her all along supporting her with his motivational talks, Facetimed Laura’s mother and sister to give her courage before Ella was finally born. Even then, the doctors took her away for a long time, leaving the parents worried if she was alright.
