Emma Coronel Aispuro was born on 3 July 1989 near San Francisco, California, to Ines Coronel Barreras and Blanca Estela Aispuro. She spent most of her childhood in La Angostura which is a remote village in Durango.

Career

Emma Coronel Aispuro is a Mexican model and former beauty queen. She participated in 2006 Miss Coffee and Guava competition. This was the time when she had already met the then 53-year-old drug lord, Joaquin ‘El Chapo’ Guzman, who was wanted in U.S. and Mexico.

As per the competition, each contestant was supposed to throw a party. This party was thrown to honour their candidacy. Aispuro’s party was slated to be held on Three Kings Day, which was on January 6, 2007. When El Chapo came to know about this competition he brought hundreds of armed men and declared his love for the Mexican beauty in public. He proposed marriage to Aispuro and soon she became the winner of the pageant with 400 of 800 votes. El Chapo had arranged everything in well advance and brought three bands at the coronation day. She was crowned Coffee and Guava Queen which also followed her wedding to El Chapo. The crown was passed to first runner up.

Emma Coronel Aispuro first met El Chapo in 2006 at a party that was organized by her father. At that party, she was with her then boyfriend, whereas El Chapo was with another woman. Soon enough the couple got married on July 2, 2007. During their wedding, Aispuro was only 18 years old, whereas El Chapo was 53 years old. The wedding ceremony was attended by very few people and was highly guarded by security forces.

In 2012, she gave birth to twins, Maria Joaquina Guzman Coronel, and Emali Guadalupe Guzman Coronel at Antelope Valley Hospital in Lancaster which is in the north of Los Angeles. The space containing father’s name was left blank as El Chapo was wanted in Mexico and USA, moreover there was a $ 5 million bounty on his head.

El Chapo has been married to many women and has over 19 children. He’s also known to have strings of affairs with hookers and TV stars. Despite this, Aispuro supports him and is completely devoted to her husband. She gave a media appearance in 2016 in the interview which was titled ‘La Reina de El Chapo’ (‘The Queen of El Chapo’). In the interview, she argued and later begged for her husband’s life in prison. She even said that her husband’s life was in danger inside the prison and she pleaded for justice on his behalf. El Chapo was earlier arrested by Mexican police in January 2016.
