Emmanuel Lewis is an American former child actor who is popular for playing the titular role in the 1980s sitcom ‘Webster’. He is also known for appearing in several commercials of well-known brands like Colgate, Burger King, Campbell's Soup, and Life Cereal. The youngest son of a former computer science professional, Lewis grew up alongside three siblings. He attended Midwood High School and later graduated with a theatre arts degree from Clark Atlanta University. He is also a singer and runs a musical label. Besides USA, he is extremely popular in Japan where his song “City Connection" charted at #2 on the Oricon chart. Lewis, who is often compared to actor Gary Coleman, is one of the greatest former child stars of the American entertainment industry. On a personal note, he is a practitioner of taekwondo and loves to engage in the martial art whenever he gets time. Lewis once had a long-term friendship with the late superstar Michael Jackson.

Career
Emmanuel Lewis began his career by appearing in commercials of various products, such as cars, soup, coffee, pizza, glue, fruit juice, and burgers. He did four commercials for Burger King and many for Campbell's Soup and Life Cereal. His Colgate commercial has also been very popular. His first acting job beyond commercials was in the Joseph Papp New York Shakespeare Festival Production of the play ‘A Midsummer Night's Dream’.
In 1983, Lewis was cast in the titular role in the television series ‘Webster’. His performance earned him two Young Artist Award nominations; however, he them lost to other actors. After this, he featured in the episode "Only the Good Die Young" of the series ‘The Love Boat’ and the TV special ‘A Christmas Dream’. In 1997, the actor made guest appearances in two episodes of the sitcom ‘Family Matters’. A year later, he got a role in the drama ‘Moesha’. This was followed by a role in ‘Malcolm & Eddie’ in 1999.
He appeared in the British television quiz show ‘The Weakest Link’ in 2001. Two years later, Lewis appeared as a contestant in the first season of the reality show, ‘The Surreal Life,’ alongside Gabrielle Carteris, Corey Feldman, MC Hammer, Jerri Manthey, Brande Roderick and Vince Neil.
In the year 2005, the American actor appeared in ‘My Super Sweet 16’, an MTV reality television series which documented the lives of teenagers with wealthy parents. That year, he also featured in the sitcom 'One on One'. He next had a cameo appearance in the flick ‘Kickin' It Old Skool’ (2007), a comedy movie by Harvey Glazer about a young dancer who hits his head during a talent event and slips into a coma for twenty years. After this, Lewis featured in an episode of ‘Between Two Ferns’. On November 9, 2014, he was invited on Ken Reid's "TV Guidance Counselor" podcast.
In Japan, Lewis is more popular as a singer. His single titled "City Connection" peaked at #2 on the Oricon chart.
