Erick Brian Colon is a Latin American pop singer, famous as the youngest member of a boy band called CNCO. The band was formed when Erick, Joel Pimentel, Christopher Velez, Richard Camacho, and Zabdiel De Jesus won a reality show called La Banda which was organized by Ricky Martin and Simon Cowell. Erick’s dream of becoming a musician came true when he was selected as the fourth member of the group in the first week of the reality show. The group’s final performance DevuelvemeMi Corazon became an instant hit and the song was performed again at Times Square as part of Univision’s 2016 New Year’s celebrations. Erick Brian is active on social media with over one million followers on Twitter and 2.3 million followers on Instagram. The song Reggaeton Lento (Bailemos) has over one billion hits on YouTube. After his Mas Alla Tour, Brian went on to participate in some of the most prestigious concert tours like Ricky Martin’s One World Tour, Ariana Grande’s Dangerous Woman Tour, and Enrique Iglesias and Pitbull Live! These tours gave him the exposure that he needed and helped him in reaching out to his fans. At present, Erick is concentrating on furthering the fame of CNCO which is considered one of the hottest boy bands of Latin America.

Rise to Stardom

Erick Brian Colon gained recognition when he participated in the Latin American talent hunt reality show La Banda in September 2015. The show was created by Ricky Martin and Simon Cowell in an attempt to select members for a new pop band. The aim was to launch a new band at the end of each season.

The first week of the show was hosted by Mexican model Alejandra Espinoza, and the band formed at the end of the season was called CNCO. Erick was selected as the fourth member of a five-member boy band which soon became famous.

La Banda became a major success as it had participants from various Latin American countries. As the competition moved from one phase to another, many talented musicians were eliminated until the final band was formed with extremely talented singers and instrumentalists. The final band performed the song Devuelveme Mi Corazon which became famous among critics and music lovers.

Career

Erick Brian Colon’s popularity soared when he participated in La Banda, resulting in a spike in the number of his social media followers. Before the end of the reality show, Erick already had more than 440,000 followers on Twitter and 1.3 million followers on Instagram. CNCO was formed on 13 December 2015 after which there was no looking back for Erick and his fellow band members.

Their song Reggaeton Lento (Bailemos) has more than one billion hits on YouTube, making them the first boy band to achieve the feat. They gained popularity when they set out on Mas Alla Tour, during which they reached out to their fans, far and wide. Brian, along with his band, accompanied famous musicians like Ricky Martin, Ariana Grande, Enrique Iglesias, and Pitbull during their respective concert tours. Not surprisingly, Brian learned a bagful of musical tricks by accompanying such experienced musicians.

CNCO won a five-year recording contract with Sony Music Latin. The band then released its debut album titled PrimeraCita in August 2016. Produced by rapper Wisin, PrimeraCita, became an instant hit. The band then released its hit singles, Tan Facil and Quisiera which did well on international music charts.

Erick’s band was nominated for six awards at the Premios Juventud Youth Awards, out of which it won five awards, namely Catchiest Tune, My Pop Artist, Producer’s Choice, Favourite Twitter Celebrity, and Favourite Fan-army.

CNCO was shortlisted for Billboard Latin Music Awards, 2017 under the category Artist of the Year. Erick is currently busy composing songs for his band, along with his fellow band members.

Erick Brian Colon was born on 3 January, 2001 in Havana, Cuba. In 2012, he moved to Tampa, Florida, along with his mother and sister. Erick is close to his mother and sister. He also shares a cordial relationship with his nephew Thiago.

Erick is a keen footballer and loves making music. He is also a talented dancer and used to participate in almost all the cultural events organized by his school.

Erick Brian Colon, along with his friends Christopher Velez and Joel Pimentel, had formed his own band and had performed locally before becoming a part of the five-member boy band, CNCO.
