Rise to Fame
At the age of 16, Lucas Mosing discovered the group FaZe Clan’s content through one of their YouTube videos. He has said that since the day he first watched a video of theirs, he became one of their biggest fans. He would come home every day and watch one of their videos. In time, he was inspired to set up his own channel.
In January 2013, Mosing created his channel, FaZe Blaze, naming it after his favourite Pokémon, which was also the first video game he ever played. However, despite the name, his initial goal was not to join FaZe Clan or make money off the channel. The only thing he wanted was to be recognized by the FaZe Clan. In his early videos, he collaborated with a friend named Nick. Together, they created a ‘Call of Duty’ group called xJMx.
After he began spending hours playing video games and his grades started to slip, his parents became concerned. However, they fully supported him and he began making videos as well. During this period, Blaze primarily made ‘Call of Duty’ videos. After xJMx, he was also part of a trickshot group called Spacebound. Later, he joined another team called Obey. He became a member of FaZe Clan in January 2015.
After graduating from high school, Blaze attended the University of California Santa Cruz but later dropped out to move into the FaZe House in mid-2015. Since then, his channel has grown exponentially. As of 2018, he has about three million subscribers and above 400 million total views. He is extremely popular on Instagram as well where he has over one million followers. At present, he serves as one of the Directors of FaZe Clan.
On May 21, 2017, Blaze began his career as a rapper with the release of his track ‘Woah Kemosabe’. Also featuring RSK, the song has received mixed reviews from his fans. While many support him on his new endeavour, others lament the dearth of gaming video uploads on his channel.

Personal Life
Mosing was born on August 19, 1996, in Vienna, Austria, to Hemma and Kristoff Mosing. He has a younger sister named Mia who often makes appearances on his channel and runs her own channel with her friend Helene.
When he was three months old, his father was hired for a job in the United States of America and the family relocated to Mountain View, California. They later moved to Palo Alto, California. His parents wanted him to know about his Austrian-German heritage and so they enrolled him at a German International School. During these years, he was not much interested in video games or social media. Instead, he played soccer and aspired to become a professional player one day.
He changed school in his eighth grade and began attending a regular American school. According to Blaze, the experience jarred him out of his comfort zone. While he still played soccer, he did not have that many friends at the new school. As a result, he became a loner.
Blaze then attended St. Francis High School in Mountain View. He was having a better time there but his parents decided to move back to Austria. Blaze was unsure about how he would learn and write solely in German languages. Despite minor setbacks, he eventually settled into his new life in Austria.
