Fran Belibi is an American basketball player who rose to fame after becoming the first girl to dunk during a high-school match. She achieved this feat during a high school game in Colorado in January 2017. Not long after that, a video of her dunking went viral. She later repeated the act during another match in December 2018, making it clear that her previous achievement was not a fluke. Despite the fact that she began playing basketball only in September 2015, she is named among top 25 prospects in the ESPN HoopGurlz rankings. She has verbally committed to joining the Stanford University after a rigorous shortlisting process that saw her family set up a web portal for college coaches to contact her. She played three varsity seasons at Regis Jesuit High School and plays for Mile Hi Magic in the summer. Playing for the USA, she has helped her youth teams clinch gold medals at the '2017 FIBA Americas U16 Championship' and at '2018 FIBA U17 World Cup'. She also helped the USA win the '2018 Latvia U17 International Invitational' title.
