Early Life & Family

Gianna Santos was born in 1989 in the Tribeca neighbourhood, Manhattan, New York City, New York, USA. She grew up with a younger sister named Olivia, who is currently studying at the University of Maryland. According to Olivia’s social media pages, she is a member of the Kappa Delta sorority and studied in Europe in 2018.

Education & Career

Gianna Santos studied at New York City Lab School for Collaborative Studies. After earning a high school degree from there, she joined Fordham University in 2007. In 2011, she graduated with a bachelor’s degree in communications and media studies and a minor in sociology.

Santos started her career as an intern for NYC Assembly Member Jonathan Bing in December 2005. The internship lasted for about six months, until May 2006. From June 2009 to January 2010, she served as the hostess at Barbuto Restaurant, an Italian eatery in New York. She was employed for four months at J.Crew as a sales support executive between April 2010 and July 2010. An American multi-brand, multi-channel speciality retail company, J.Crew offers a wide range of apparel and accessories for men, women, and children.

Santos first joined HBO as a production intern for HBO Sports in September 2010. She left after doing the internship for four months in December 2010 but returned for a five-month internship in the marketing department in January 2011. After she graduated, she accepted the post of an account assistant for Comcast and Time Warner Team in November 2011. In March 2012, she was made HBO’s budget coordinator in consumer marketing, a position she held until May 2012. For a year between 2012 and 2013, Santos worked as an associate account executive at the New York-based apparel and fashion company, Theory. She was employed as an e-commerce stylist at yet another apparel and accessories retailer, JackThreads, from February 2014 to March 2016.

In May 2016, Santos was appointed as the head stylist and producer at Kith NYC, the New York City branch of the fashion brand Kith. She worked there for almost three years before resigning in February 2019. Since April 2019, she has been serving as a content manager at Violet Grey, a beauty start-up based in Los Angeles, California.

Throughout her career, Santos, whose styling and life motto is “less is more”, has worked with several fashion and apparel brands, especially during her tenure at Kith and JackThreads. She has collaborated with major shoe brands like Nike, Adidas, Puma, and Converse and has also done projects with Japanese designer Yohji Yamamoto’s brand Y-3 (a collaborative effort with Adidas) and women’s activewear company Bandier.

On her website, she maintains a blog through which she shares her work as a photographer. Her pictures are catalogued under the names of various brands, ‘Kith’, ‘Adidas’, ‘Puma’, and ‘Nike’. Each category contains a collection of photographs of a model showcasing apparel and accessories of a specific brand. Some are from staged photo shoots, while a few depict candid moments. She herself appears in some of the photographs, as do her friends.

Relationship with Jonah Hill

The first time Gianna Santos was spotted with Jonah Hill was in August 2018. They had reportedly started dating around the same time. One of the most prolific actors, screenwriters, filmmakers, and comedians of today, Hill is a two-time Academy-Award nominee. Despite his fame and the constant hounding by the paparazzi, Hill and Santos managed to keep their relationship private. However, in September 2019, TMZ reported that they had gotten engaged after spotting them together out for a walk on a rainy day in New York City with a diamond ring around her finger.
