Gloom Bio

Gloom was born Kassima Isabelle on December 19, 1990, in Lethbridge, Alberta, Canada. She is of mixed Chinese, British, Malaysian and Italian descent. She was raised alongside her two siblings, a younger sister and an older brother. She moved to Singapore along with her family where she spent most of her childhood. She returned to Canada and started attending elementary school. Gloom was bullied in school because of her ethnicity. During her high school days, she often skipped her classes to avoid being bullied.

After graduating from high school, she attended college where she improved her grades. She then received an invitation to join a university. During her first semester in the university, she faced several health issues including depression. Her attempt to keep depression at bay with anti-depressants did not yield results which made her suicidal and irritable. She even took a break from attending university and tried her hand at posting videos on YouTube.

She created a YouTube channel in 2015 and started posting gaming and commentary videos. She then went on to post different kinds of videos, such as skits, vlogs, and parodies. Her YouTube channel started accumulating thousands of subscribers and views in a short period of time, establishing her as a YouTube star. Her popularity on YouTube also helped her gain followers on other social media platforms like Instagram and Twitter. A multi-talented individual, Gloom uses her popularity to sell merchandise on platforms like TeeChip and Redbubble.

Gloom’s popularity increased when she posted a video titled Reacting with Shakira to Her Old Videos in which she featured the popular Columbian star Shakira. After posting the video, her YouTube channel started accumulating a number of subscribers and views. As of now her YouTube channel, which was created on September 29, 2015, has more than 6.5 million subscribers and over two billion views. Many of her videos, such as Fidget Trading Scams, I’m a Substitute Teacher for Dumb Kids, Kids Acting Like Adults, and Oddly Satisfying But it Takes Talent, have gathered millions of views each.

Gloom is also popular on TikTok where she posts lip-sync and other interesting videos. Her TikTok account has managed to accumulate more than two million fans and over 20 million likes. Her Instagram page, where she posts interesting video clips and pictures pertaining to her professional and personal life, has 500K followers.

Gloom suffers from clinical depression, a condition which worsened after she lost her sister to suicide in 2013. She is openly pansexual and is currently engaged to Teebs Liebersteen who is friends with her older brother. Apart from creating content on social media, Gloom also enjoys spending time with her pet dog Anjing. She often features her dog on her Instagram page.
